Stove question

DH and I want to upgrade our range. I love the gas ranges but right now we have an electric one. Has anyone had an electric stove but then convert to a gas? I also don't know if we have a gas hookup in our kitchen. TIA!

Re: Stove question

  • Yup - we added gas when we redid our kitchen.  Thankfully, our heater (which is gas) is next to the kitchen, so our plumber just ran the line into our attic and down the wall to hook up to our new stove.

Do you have gas anything in your house? If so, it is relatively easy. If not, then...yikes. I am not sure about that.

Our heater is gas but it's on the other side of the house. We probably won't be doing this for a long time since we have other house projects higher on the priority list.

  • We just did this.  :)  Thankfully we had a gas line behind the oven, we just had to add the cut off valve since it was capped.  Easy peasy!
