3 months salary for engagement ring???
Is anyone going by the old rule that the FH spends 3 months of his salary for your ring? My FH is insisting on spending that much on my ring and I really think it is WAY too much! Plus, I doubt I've already pregnant now. We should save some for our kids but not to just enjoy life, right??
If he had spent 3 months salary on a ring, I would have smacked him silly! Then made him take it back. I just want a ring with a dolphin dryhumping a panda. They're my two favorite animals.
Am I wrong to think like this??

So, If you dont require a wheelbarrow to lug your ring around, it's not acceptable.
I think that idea of three months' salary (or, maybe two months) came from an old DeBeer's commerical. DeBeer's is a diamond/jewelry company. It's a total marketing/advertising ploy...
Your fiance shouldn't go into debt over an E-ring. Nor should he drain his savings.
This. I would have been pissed if H had spent that much on a ring. Wouldn't you rather save some of that money for, oh, I don't know, buying a house together or a honeymoon or something?
