I'm probably overthinking this, but I think I need new shoes...
I kind of know the CEO of the new place that I'm going to from other things. I know that she loves designer shoes. I, also, love designer shoes. She knows how much designer shoes costs.
Should I not wear my designer shoes because I know that she'll be able to spot them and she knows how much they cost? I don't want her to think they're paying me too much (which they aren't) or that I'm squandering my money on shoes and should not be trusted with company money.
I think I'll have contact with her a few times a week.
See? I told you I was probably over thinking this.

don't worry, you're totally overthinking this. if anything, it will be a bonding thing for the two of you! my old boss recognized designer pieces, and it was never an issue.
If she can afford them, then they're over-paying her too much as well (if she thinks they're over-paying you!).
If she ever asks about your shoe collection (apart from to be envious), you can just always say, 'Oh, I've gotten a lot on sale' or 'Oh I have a friend that works at Nordy's who gets them for me.' I've used both those lies because it is awkward when people ask you how much you paid for something!
Plus, you can also always say, 'Oh, I have a really difficult time finding shoes that fit my feet well and these are the only type that do.'
I have lots of excuses to justify your shoe collection. PM me any time you need a new one.
