Do you feel your look is put together?
Before I had Teaghan and I worked I always felt really well put together, lately I feel like an old maid.
I don't shop for clothes as much anymore but when I do I feel like I still don't look or feel put together.
What are some of your favorite brands you wear that help you feel put together or you feel fit your body really well?
I think that my other problem, I need to find clothes that fit me well.
(I feel like this post makes no sense...haha)

Re: Do you feel your look is put together?
I feel more put together some days than others. My workplace is very casual (read: one of my coworkers wore white sweatpants last week) so I don't feel the need to be really well dressed.
That said, I dress one step below dressy casual/ one step above casual- usually nice sweaters, jeans, nicer tennis shoes or flats for every day- then wear an outfit between dressy casual and business casual for when we have events, board meetings, etc.
You do need to find clothes that fit you well to feel put together. Go try some stuff on! I feel frumpy in my loose-ish jeans lately.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I'm in the same boat as Mary, our office is very casual. Yesterday I wore one of Andy's old Gap Thermal Tee's. Today I'm in heels and a nice sweater.
A lot of times I feel more put together if I'm wearing earrings and a necklace. Like yesterday I wore sparkle globe earrings and put a ribbon in my hair. Even though I was in a tee I didnt feel like I looked like I just rolled out of bed.
Like Mary there are days when I feel more put together than others. When it comes to work I'm a wardrobe planner; on Saturday or Sunday I pick out my clothes, accessories, shoes, everything for the week. If it's a new outfit or combination that I'm trying out I will try it on and make sure I like how it looks. This allows me time to make sure I like how each outfit is put together and saves me time on those early weekday mornings. Maybe one day while T is napping you can look through what you have that you like and that fits well and put together some outfits (10 days worth to start off with?); make note of what you have that you need to replace and what you wish you had while putting together your outfits. This way you'll have ready to go outfits and ideas about things that you need/would like.
Having clothes that fit and that you feel good in is really important for me in feeling put together because of my size. If you have basics (jeans, tanks, black pants, etc..) that are not fitting right slowly start incorporating new, correctly fitting things into your wardrobe. When I first started working full time I didn't have a lot of work basics that I wanted (neutral color slacks other than black, cardigans, flat shoes,etc...) so each pay check I would allow myself $X.XX and go and get those things. In about 6 months I had a very full work wardrobe that's very versatile.
Hmm, I don't think I have ever really felt put together in general, just because it has never really been a big focus for me. I wear pretty basic stuff, and don't really accessorize which I know would be helpful. I do try to wear things that fit well and are flattering, so in that sense I feel like I look okay. Like most days I wear yoga clothes because that is the most practical for me right now. But I wear ones that fit well and coordinate, I have quite a bit of Lululemon tops, pullovers, bottoms and tanks that I layer. I also get a lot of stuff from Gap and Banana Republic when they have sales.
Anyway, my answer was probably not helpful at all(sorry!!) but i do agree with Mary that fit is huge. I have to have a lot of my pants tailored and it makes a big difference.

Nope- not at all. I have been searching for my style since I had the baby and my body has changed. No time and money right now for big shopping sprees. I have been putting a few items back into my wardrobe but need a huge overhaul. Honestly I told Mark I need to go through my closets this weekend, try on things and start pitching. If I get motivated tonight I might just do this. I dont even know what I have since I am hoarding a ton of stuff that wont ever fit.
I do sometimes but since I stopped nursing, I've purchased quite a bit of clothing which helped a lot. None of my pre preg stuff fits me comfortably and I'm doubting it ever will. I'm a size up than I was pre preg. I finally gave in and bought stuff that fits and I feel a lot better.
When I was preg I purchased jewelry (just cheapy stuff) and a lot of scarves to add to my very basic and plain maternity clothes I bought so I still can use those to help polish off a look.
I have always loved clothes from Express and The limited bc they just fit me the best. My torso is long and their stuff is longer than other stores. For basic stuff I get a lot of it from Target. I also have discovered Eddie Bauer. Its very "mom-ish" but it suits me. I'm a mom now and I'm ok with looking like one on occasion. EB also comes in tall sizes which I need. I like their sweaters and casual button up tops.
I don't have a dress code to be a nanny haha but everyday I wear jeans, a cute top and a cardigan or a sweater. Then depending I add a scarf or a chunky necklace. Since I don't wear shoes really while nannying, I don't worry about my shoes ever. I pretty much wear uggs to and from work every day

Most days, yes. We are on the more casual end of business professional (no jeans, dress pants expected, etc). I generally have cute shoes on (half the time heels, sometimes flats or riding boots), and ditto the accessories helping - whether it's a scarf, earrings, funky necklaces, I tend to feel more put together that way.
Non work days, not so much, unless we're going out to dinner or something. But if I put effort into my outfit, yes, I generally feel put together.
For those looking to incorporate more jewelry - find the nearest Charming Charlie STAT.
Totally revamped my accessory collection.

Not even close. I find myself wearing the same thing all the time: nursing tank, aolid color tshirt, and long sleeve t or zip up hoodie, and jeans. Nannying doesnt really require a certain dress code and honestly I'm constantly getting spit up on...sometimes worse. Before Olive and Zoey (baby I nanny) I did put in a bit more effort. Now I need to be comfy, able to easily access my boobs to feed Olive quickly, and not be burning up because they keep it so stinkin warm here. I dont even wear make up anymore daily because a) there's no time to do it in the am and b) what for? the kids dont care. I still try to blow dry my hair everyday so it doesnt look so awful.
I'm hoping as the babies get older I can feel better about wearing nicer things to work and have more time in the mornings to do my make up. I have all of these outfits pinned on Pinterest as inspiration...
