I handing CDing down to a science with the girls, but a boy is apparently crazy different! I'm using prefolds and Thirsties covers currently. DS is peeing through the diaper and cover every hour. I'm doing my best to get it pointed down, but his tummy gets soaked within an hour. The diaper is usually completely soaked. Is he just some sort of extreme peer or something? Or am I doing something wrong? I use the angel wing fold, or I think that's what it's called. It's the only one I know how to do. I am using the higher absorbency prefolds too, the 8 layer ones. I might get my BGs out, but would much rather stick with prefolds for a bit longer. Speaking of BGs, anyone use Rockin Green Hard Rock or BumGenius detergent on them?

I always folded the prefold into threes (folding the sides in), and then kind of spreading it out behind the bum. If there is extra material, do the fold in the front like L mentioned. This may be called the angel fold, but not sure.
Make sure to not tuck the prefold under the tab in the front of the cover, and maybe try cinching the covers a bit tighter so that they are a little more snug around the waist. Also, is he a long baby? Whenever we had this problem when DS was older, it was because the rise of the cover wasn't high enough, and it was wicking out the top, you could maybe try the next cover size up too.
DS, even now, goes through phases where he pees thorugh everything, and others where he's fine. I think sometimes it's just so much liquid the diaper can't keep up, especially when they are sleeping. Do you have any pocket inserts that you could maybe supplement with as another layer?

With DS I did the fold-over thing that smilelari mentioned.
For detergent we used to use Country Save when we were in Denver (and never had any problems) but once we moved to ABQ we had to switch to Rockin Green hard rock due to the much harder water here. Both were fine with our BG's.
I always fold over the front a bit. If he's soaking the PF, I'd get a bigger PF or use a doubler. As long as you have poo containment, I think your fold is ok.
Only issue I had with pee and PF folds was their junk sometimes escaping out the side. (Bikini twist didn't work well!) I do a jelly roll. It's like an angel wing, except you roll in the sides to make a barrier instead of folding them. Then I kind of flip the sides of the top over and fold down the front.
