NJ Nestie here: Prop Photographer in Allentown area?

Hi all - I will be visiting Allentown this weekend and wanted to see if there are any photographers in the Allentown area that are similar to "Sadie's" (formerly in the Lehigh Valley Mall) or "Poppy Lane Family Portraits" (formerly in Easton) that still exist?

We have Portrait Innovations/Kiddie Kandids/Picture People/Sears/Target/JC Penney around here but I wanted to see if any of the prop-heavy, "mall studios" still exist out there that would warrant an appointment while I am there.  Thanks in advance!

Re: NJ Nestie here: Prop Photographer in Allentown area?

  • I live in the LV and practically cried when Sadies (and then Poppy Lane) closed. They were who I used for DD's pics since she was born.

I haven't found anyone else that does such interesting pics w/the scenes like that, but I have been pleasantly surprised by Portrait Innovations. They aren't as fancy but I feel like the photos do highlight DD's personality more and she has really taken quickly to the photographers. (The last sitting we had for Christmas, her sitting was over within a few minutes).

The only thing I could think of would be to use a pro photographer, but even still the props would be lacking andit  wouldn't even touch that low of a price range (I also felt like Sadie's/Poppy Lane was such a great deal).

  • I live near NYC and would take trips out to PA just to visit Sadie's!  A foster transport for a dog rescue I'm involved with will bring me to that area so I was hoping that I could schedule a photo session with a Sadie's/Poppy Lane wannabe.  I'm sad to learn that there isn't anything that has replaced them.  Bummer.  I visit the local PI in town quite often but was hoping there was a "new shop" in PA that took over where Sadie's and Poppy Lane left off.  Oh well...  Thanks so much for the info!
