Who is the most famous person you've ever met?
Re: QOTD - 2.20.2012
Adam West, probably. Although, I don't know if it qualifies as meeting him since I don't think he ever even looked at me, let alone broke in convesation with the guy next to him. He seemed like a jerk. My family went to a Pistons game when I was in junior high, and randomly Adam West was in attendance. They announced that he'd have a table set up and would be signing autographs at a certain time. So, I stood in line and had him sign my program. I asked politely, but I don't think he even looked at me or the program as he signed it.
Otherwise, Jeannette Walls (author of The Glass Castle). I had her sign my book. She seemed lovely and super nice.
My jobs and Jim's have put us in contact with a fair amount of people considered famous. Here are some:
A bunch of NASCAR drivers (I'm not a fan, but know some of them do well, and sell stuff on tv).
Justin Verlander
Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter
And David Lander, who you probably know better as the guy on the bottom right.
JuliD.
=D
I went to a David Sedaris event/reading/signing thing with my mom, he was super funny, although there's not a chance he'd remember me.
I met Luke Bryan (country singer).
But have to agree with JGE, there is not a chance he'd remember me.
Celine Dion is my 8th cousin (my grandpa was pretty proud of that - he was really into family tree type stuff.) I've never met her and don't plan on it.
Steven Tyler. I got to go back stage at an Aerosmith concert. I actually met the whole band, but Mr Tyler was the only one who spoke to me. It actually was a bit creepy and cool at the same time.
I've also met James Taylor, Jennie Garth (in the the early 90's, I was a seriously star struck 13 year old :P) and N sync. But I didn't have a conversation with any of them.
Katie Holmes. I was at her sister Nancy's wedding (friend of the groom). It was back in the summer of 2002(?), so pre Tom/Suri. She was very quiet and kind of kept to herself. Although, we were all standing as a group talking and she said "Hi, I'm Katie". (Um...yeah, I know.:P) But I said, "I am Amy, nice to meet you". Then we briefly chatted about how she was nervous to give her speech and that was about it.
I worked at the 1913 Room for a bit back in college and I met George W Bush before he was pres and Jerry Lewis. Jerry Lewis was SUCH a complete douche-bag. He was sooo arrogant and came in with short shorts (EEEW) and a cut off t-shirt on. He would snap his finger to get your attention and was just so completely rude in every way possible. UGH...I still get irritated even thinking about it.
Mira, I am so jealous. I love James Taylor!
My cousin has a couple of film credits to her name, does that count?
I met the singer Howie Day and got his autograph when he was on tour with Tori Amos before he had a hit of his own.
I'm really bad at recognizing famous people out of context and don't really participate in activities that put me in touch with famous people.
I worked with some celebrities during my time at LV. Sharon Osbourne, Kanye West, Jessica Simpson and a few others.
I met Arianna Huffington at a cocktail party and we had a nice conversation.
He lives in Rockford and supposedly some kind of creep. LOL
Yeah, He's a bit different.
I met Chris Osgood and Brett Lebda when the Red Wings did a practice with the Griffens and then signed autographs. Both players signed my Osgood jersey!
Met Justin Abdelkader when he still played for the Griffs before getting called up to play for the Wings.
Met Stefan Liv who was a goalie for the Griffs, and he was a player killed in that huge crash that killed a bunch of Russian hockey players last year.
My Profile
I know Ruvell Martin - he played for Green Bay and Seattle in the NFL. Hardly famous though.
Louis Vuitton. I was a manager for 6 years in the Mich Ave boutique when I lived in Chicago.
