Dear Nesties,
I will be in a training all day today so I will be posting and running. Also, my BIL has offered to come help us install the flooring; we would just have to pay travel expenses (and I would feel that we should give him some money as well). Would you do this? Lowe's gave us a fairly close estimate last night and, before taxes, it's $8000 which is just barely under our other estimate that included taxes. Bill found another flooring company that had something that he liked at $5.99 a sq ft installed but the other place we looked at said $7.09 installed but it ended up being $9.09 installed. The only issue with BIL doing it for us/helping us out is that he can't come until April (although the weekend can be our choice). I would rather get it out of the way.
Dear Ikea,
Your $15 pillow is amazing and way better than the $40 pillows from Target and BBB. I now wish I had bought two.
Dear Little Brother,
When I call you later today, I hope you are willing to come over with your painting expertise this weekend to help Bill finish up a project. Or at least be willing to help me put the Ikea furniture together. Your call.
Re: OL Tuesday
Tamiflu is a miracle drug. I feel a billion times better today. Still a sore throat, and I'm pretty tired, but that's no big deal. I had to cancel yesterday's session which I HATE doing... I'm glad I didn't have to cancel today's two sessions and a client meeting!
And Julie, if it's me, I'd just want to get the floor done now. In my experience, something ALWAYS happens to make me spend money I had set aside for something if I wait. That said, Mack did save a lot on our new wood flooring (well, wood laminate) by putting it in with a group of friends instead of paying for installation, so I can see both sides.
Dear Nesties,
I didn't run this by Julie, so I hope she's ok with this. We are going to see Rent at Casa Manana on March 11th. If you are interested let either of us know.
Julie,
Does he know flooring? I would want to be done with it too, but if it helps save a lot then I could wait.
Dear Cousin asking for Thanksgiving photos,
All 5 are up on fb now. Hope you leave me alone!
Chelsea,
Glad you are feeling better
Dear nesties,
Please forgive my fb for all the pictures I'm about to upload. Need to just get it done and since the doctor isn't here today seem like a good time.

Julie-
Considering that projects take longer than expected more times than not, I would be worried that I would be left with half finished floors and a big ol' mess at the end of Sunday.
Dear a good night's sleep-
Where are you?
Dear coworker-
First of all, congrats on your promotion. I don't know why you feel the need to keep it all a secret but whatev. I'm sure it's just one of those things you've been told not to tell me...except this time, you've actually done it. Second of all, I really don't think it's cool that you tell our boss that you are going home to take care of your sick kid when you really plan on going across the metroplex to look at camera's and for me not to tell her. Not that I would intentionally tell her but at the same time, I'm not lying for you; you would get off scot-free while I would be the one in trouble. Now I just need to tell you the second half in person. Maybe when I have something on my stomach.
Dear someone-
Way to go. Yet again, I don't exist. I truly hope this isn't a malicious act on your end.
Dear spaghetti squash-
What the hay? I've gone to 4 different stores to find you and everyone is sold out. Are you suddenly in popular demand? Are you a miracle food talked about on TV this weekend? I find it ridiculous that I'm going to have to go to Lewisville because you are not available in Denton.
I had about 10 things that I wanted/needed to do last night and I failed to do a single one
I left my house key at work so I couldn't get in but then I thought "Hey, this is great! I need to read so I'll just go sit on our back porch until DH gets home in about 10 minutes" but our yard was a swamp and then DH called and said he was going to be like an hour late so I just went and shopped at Wal Mart and then Drug Emporium. He ended up being about 2 hours late and we ended up just grabbing Grandy's and FroYo and getting home around 8. I didn't read a single page, didn't work out (although I did shop walk for an hour and a half), didn't take a nap but I found Better'n Peanut Butter and these vitamin brownies.
Julie, Yay for hardwood floors. I'm no help on doing it now or waiting. I think it is just what y'all can live with.
Chelsea, Glad you are feeling better, but sorry you have been sick. That is no fun!
Jaymi, What are you cooking with Spaghetti squash? I never know what to do with it.

I've only cooked it once and used this recipe except I used chicken instead of shrimp and added red bell peppers: http://www.doctoroz.com/videos/anaheim-shrimp-scampi?page=3#copy
During the fast, I will have to cut the chicken too and will probably add a few more veggies as well as do a pesto. I've also seen people just put spaghetti sauce on it.
Dear Nesties-
For those of you doing Lent, what are you giving up or gaining?
Dear Parenthood-
I can't believe next week is the season finale

Dear J - thank you for coming home last night instead of today! I slept better than I have in a month
Dear Nesties, Obviously, I'm in a chipper mood today. Now if the workday would just hurry up and fly by, so I could go home and see my honey!
Dear Costa Rica,
I will see you in 2 months exactly!! I can't wait!
Dear Julie,
You will have to take before and after pics of your floors!
Dear Sleeping habits,
You are sucking the life out of me. I'm definitely not getting enough sleep in bc I can't get my butt in bed.
It's wearing me out and making my eye twitch today.
Dear Julie, holy cow I can't believe wood floors cost $8K. How much will you actually save with BIL doing it? That would be the deciding factor for me.
Dear Chelsea, so glad you are feeling better!
Dear weather, you are supposed to be amazing this week so please don't let me down.
Dear Jaymi, as a lifelong Baptist, I never observed Lent. As a now-Methodist, I can't seem to get into it. I always fail so now I never even bother. I can't believe Jesus can die on the cross, but I can't give up diet soda. I suck.

Angie, what a great surprise! So glad you got to see him without all the anticipation of waiting today.
Amanda, I want to hear all about your trip when you get back. That is on our list for possible vacations!
Jaymi, Hmm, maybe I'll have to try the squash sometime. For Lent, I think I'm going to give up fast food. I have a bad habit of swinging by places lately and this will be a good test to stop.

Dear work,
You.are.so.busy! It's great, because the day passes quickly, but then I don't get any nesting time.
Dear Daughter,
Flu AND strep? You poor baby. I want to take all of this crap away from you.
Dear Macroeconomics,
I really can't believe that I actually understand you. It makes me feel like I'm not a total idiot.

Jaymi,
I'm with Michelle, we are giving up fast food. I'm also adding rosary prayer daily. I did it one year and it really helped me. I really want to grab something for lunch since we won't be about to have any for 40 days.

Dear Deepthi, you just gave me an idea. I will start a daily devotional for Lent. Thanks!
Dear Angie, any plans for your big day tomorrow?
Dear Brianna, so sorry to hear about Cadence. What the heck is macroeconomics and why are you studying it?

Stephie - no big plans. I have my money management class from 6.30-8.30, so that kind of prohibits me from doing too much. I told J all I wanted for my birthday was for him to take me out to dinner, but we haven't talked about when or where yet. It feels a little weird to be turning 27!
I'm kind of thinking of going to Hibiscus, but other suggestions are welcome!
Dear Renee,
I hope you get that job!
<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v123/magicwombat/?action=view
That sounds like fun! I have Cirque de Soleil that night but would love to do something like this in the future.
Angie, I have been wanting to try Hibiscus and Private Social. For my birthday in April, I told Ben I want to go to the French Room.

hibiscus is awesome! DH and I have been there a few times and I would highly recommend it. Also, get there early and have a drink (or two) at the bar! They have a creative cocktail list, and friendly fun bartenders. I ended up asking him to make me something, told him what I liked and didn't, and got a great drink!
We also went to Private Social in January. Great food, good service, fun night. Nothing to complain about, but I like Hibiscus better.
I also read that Nana is closing in June and they are going to remodel and turn into a steakhouse. I haven't been, but heard great things about them. You may want to try it out before it closes.

Dear Amanda,
Me too, but the more I think about it the more I think that I'm not going to get it. Ahh, well.
No sure of the details but I hope you get it!

Dear Teachers,
What are some good tips for helping kids to remember? Melodie cannot remember anything. I bought her a calendar to write everything down in -- but she forgets to do it (or just won't). If she has to remember to pick up or turn in anything at school (such as today, her AP money/registration), she cannot remember without me texting her first thing that morning. I won't even get into the state of her checkbook. It is insane!

Dear Jaymi,
I am giving up french fries. I did this several years ago and it was really hard (I went to Disney during this time) but I made it through. I'm doing it again because I could stand to lose any weight I might lose and I would like to uncover some substitutes that I wouldn't mind eating.
I try giving up something that is hard for me (I can't tell you how much I like fried potato products) because it seems like something so small for something so great. JMO.
Dear Inquiring Nesties,
Well, considering that Lowe's materials are $4 a square foot and they said that their installation is $2.50 a square foot, I still don't know how they came so close to the first estimate. We had 786 sq ft estimated (our dining room, living room and bedroom) so 800x2.50=$2000. My one huge concern is: what if we don't get it finished while he's here? That's a bad time of year for me to take off as it's TAKS/STAAR and we're used as any sort of reliever/test monitor/bathroom monitor you can think of. We have to ask for permission to be gone during a few weeks. I'm hoping that my other friend gets back to me with her information soon so that we can make an educated choice.
