need a pick-me-up

I am really feeling gross today. Tired, sore and overwhelmed. It doesn't help that LO won't nap long enough for me to sneak in a shower. :/ Any ideas? I'd really like to get some motivation.

Re: need a pick-me-up

  • Throwing a little cold water on your face could help wake you up and make you feel a little bit fresher...

  • This is probably a huge no-no, but can you take LO in to the bathroom while you shower?

When I was in HS I had to take home one of those realistic crying babies for the weekend. I remember putting in in the car seat thing on the floor of the bathroom while I showered.

Actually, no, don't listen to me. I'm thinking about this story more now and when I brought the doll back on monday my teacher told me I had neglected the doll and was probably too rough with it, because it recorded abuse too. Embarrassed

I'll call your FI and tell him that you deserve some flowers. Stat.

  • i'd put him in a little vibrating chair and put him on the floor in the bathroom while you shower. you shouldn't let him not let you shower.. even if he cries, he'll be fine.

I know what you should NOT do. Do not eat a bunch of Skittles. They will make you sick. Trust me on this.

I think the same thing goes for dove milk chocolates... figured that out at about 9 this morning!

I don't think bringing him in there is such a bad idea... it's what I usually do! I just can't put him down without him screaming today. He isn't even usually a fussy baby.

Maybe the steam and warmth of the bathroom might calm him down. Try it!
  • I'd take the shower anyway.  If he's going to fuss regardless, you might as well feel clean and refreshed!  Or could you take a bath with him?  Then you'd both be clean and maybe he'd be calmed, too.  Then go for a walk or to a coffee shop.

    I like this idea!

  • He's finally napping anyways, but I'm going to just do it, and if he wakes up he will just have to make noise for a few I guess. Thanks for helping me not feel too bad about it!
