My sister is ending her marriage. Would you please spare her some positive thoughts and prayers?
I've posted before about BIL's mental health issues but the full extent of it is that, while he was in long-term recovery from addiction when they met, he's relapsed and hasn't been able to get his recovery back on track. He had a really good 10 week run from late November until mid-January and then things completely fell apart. I can't begin to relate the horrors of the last few weeks and what they've been through.
This situation is breaking my heart. My BIL is such a sweet, kind guy who loves my sister and desparately wanted a happy life with her. My sister wanted the same thing. But it's become clear it's just not going to happen...My family knew the odds weren't good given his substance of choice but we hoped BIL could get clean and stay clean with all our hearts and did everything we could to let him know we suppported him and loved him.
I've requested approval to telework from my sister's house so I can go stay with her for a few days.
Sorry this is so long. I'm a little emotional right now.
Re: T&P for my sister
You know where to find me if you need to talk. I'm so sorry it has come to this
And honestly, if she wants to connect with my SIL since they live in the same area, I can check to see if SIL would be up for that. They've had a similar journey and might be able to support each other.
Thank you so much! I'm still sorting through all that happened in the last 48 hours but I may take you up on your offer.
Why don't you check with SIL? If she doesn't want to connect, that's okay and we'd understand why. But as you point out, knowing each other might be helpful for both of them.
I'll FB message you some info-- and let me know if you need anything! I'm a few months ahead of you in this process and we've been gearing up for this for years so I think I'm in a different spot than you are. Huge hugs.

This exactly! You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers!
