Painful Sex

I've always had trouble with sex. I am tiny (like, when I was a teenager, going up a tampon size was extremely painful tiny). The first time I tried to have sex, I ended up developing a minor form of vaginismus. Eventually my boyfriend (now fiance) and I worked through it and I was able to enjoy sex, although initial penetration hurt a bit. Then we had to go a couple months without sex and only recently started again. Except now, sex is extremely painful. Eventually I can get to a point where I enjoy it enough that I don't feel the pain, but then I'm out of commission for a couple days. This is especially annoying because we can only see each other every other weekend.

Any suggestions on how to make this easier? I don't have money for dilators or anything. FI is extremely patient and supportive and wants to help me, but I just don't want to deal with this anymore.

Re: Painful Sex

  • See a gyn -- you may have an intact hymen, interstitial cystitis or some other physical/organic reason for the pain.

There are vaginal dilators you can also use.

If money is an issue, try Planned Parenthood or a gyn clinic of a teaching hospital near you. GL.
