What's everyone up to today? Any big plans?
QOTD: what is your favorite place you have ever lived?
Re: Good Morning!
It's only 10.20PM here and everyone has gone to bed except me lol I am drinking a glass of J.Lohr Chard and thinking about opening my novel and writing since I haven't touched it since December ugh
QOTD: UK hands down. Still miss our old house every day. I spent my teenage years there and made many friends that I still miss. The culture is much different and more relaxed than I find here. Also we had a giant swimming pool that we'd have parties in every summer. I miss that.
Good morning.
I'm sharing my good news Wednesday -- limes were $4.98/kg today at the grocery. That means fresh lime juice for the pico de gallo tonight. Whoop-Whoop! I am very excited about it. So, yes, my plans for tonight are bean & cheese burritos with fresh pico de gallo, now with real lime juice, and homemade grapefruit sorbet. It's a good day.
Before I discovered the cheap limes, I had a very enjoyable lunch with my mother-in-law and made plans to go over to be on hand to call the ambulance while she is moving books from her top shelves. This is at the insistence of my father-in-law. He forbade her from climbing the step-stool unless someone is there to call the ambulance. So I'm heading over on Saturday to be on ambulance call duty.
QOTD: I've really only ever lived in 4 places. And of those, NOLA is my favorite, but then it's my home town as well, so it might be nostalgia talking.
It's night time here, but my big plans for tomorrow are to visit the perinatalogist.
Favorite place I've ever lived is a toss-up. Prague was perfect for my 20 year old self. London was perfect for my 30 year old self. Vancouver was never perfect while we were there, but I'm sure would be in the running for "favorite place I've ever lived" now that I have DS.
Morning! I was going to sneak to church during my lunch break, but now my assistant needs to leave at 1pm. Sometimes I go out of obligation, but often I really need the moment and these weeks have been like that. So I'm sure I'll mope about that all day long. Plus I have to sit through stupid bureaucratic training sessions all morning : (.
QOTD: DH and I met in Madison, WI and we'd both move back there is a heartbeat. It's a great city, small enough but with enough cultural and social opportunities. And we could afford a nice house with a lot of land. And be close enough to my fam!
Good morning! We went to get our new resident's/work visas yesterday and the line was so long. They changed the process and we had to make an appointment online, which we did. However, they never responded and we thought all would be ok since there's never been a tiny line when we've gone in the past. Oh well, lessoned learned.
QOTD: Potato Pie, I've never been to Madison, but I imagine it to be a great place to live.
For me, I really loved Okinawa, but I was a kid when I was there and I'm sure I romanticized it a bit. As an adult I've lived in various places in Central Florida and here. I hated Orlando, but for one year we lived in a suburb of Orlando (Winter Park) and I loved that area. I was close to work and things to do. We didn't have to drive if we didn't want to because everything was so close. We often still drove because of the heat/thunderstorms.
I like the part of town I live in because there are great shops and restaurants. I do wish I spoke more German and wouldn't mind living in a different area of this country all together.
Morning! Hoping to take DD to the zoo today. Hoping. Yesterday it started snowing when I was ready to go... talk about timing.
QOTD: Tough one. I really like where we live now, so probably here in Germany. But NC was a close second.
Good morning! I am a little sore from yoga yesterday, but mostly I feel fantastic! I'm about to have my morning tea and this afternoon I am having drinks with a friend I haven't seen since Oct. In between now and this afternoon, I will probably do some ironing. woohoo!
QOTD: Paris. I never identified well with Dallas, Glasgow was great for my year as an exchange student but I don't think I would want to move back, Brussels I only did for 3 months and was nice, but Paris is really pretty darn awesome!
Morning! I'm WFH this morning and then heading to a workshop this afternoon. Should be a fairly interesting one so I'm looking forward to it.
QOTD: I think the college town was probably my favorite place. I felt like it was very in sync with my beliefs about life and lifestyle. I could walk everywhere, there was lots of nature all around, I was a reasonable distance from my family, and there were tons of activities going on all the time.
Cambridge, where I only spent a month, was fabulous too, but I think that had as much to do with me living on my own for the first time as it did the surroundings. It's still the type of place (in terms of size, feel, proximity to nature and amenities) that I'd be looking for in an ideal place to live.
Good morning!
A bit of cleaning, then I'll take M to the park in the afternoon.
QOTD: I loved Saigon, Montreal and I'm getting to love here too. Like Stever, I never got attached to Vancouver and didn't enjoy most of my time there.
Morning, I am dreading going into work today. I left yesterday at 5:00 p.m. promptly with a headache caused by my office. My boss has been on holiday for two weeks and I can't wait for him to be back! I am really disappointed in some of my colleagues and their attitudes.
QOTD: Hhhmmm... I love my hometown, but I think that is more nostalgia, I would have to say living in Central London as opposed to the Greater London. I love where we live now, but our first flat in London in Covent Garden was our first married home and I loved it!
Good morning. I'm exhausted after a very poor night of sleep. I went to bed early, but just couldn't really get settled in. But I'm proud of myself for still getting up this morning early for a workout. I hope not to lose this momentum.
We're hoping to see a few promising flats this evening, but otherwise a pretty normal day.
QOTD: That's very hard, since I've really liked everywhere I've lived. In terms of environment, I would have to say back where I grew up in Newfoundland, with our house right on the beach. It's a great place for kids, but I would never be able to move back there, it's too small now and there's not really any good jobs for us. But I do love it.

Good morning! Today's like a Friday for me since I'm off to Prague tomorrow for three nights, I'm pretty excited. It seems like it's going to be strangely warm while we're there so I can bring my cute winter coat instead of my super warm winter coat.
QODT: That I can remember, I've only lived on Long Island, in Pittsburgh and in Edinburgh. It's easy to say that Long Island wasn't my favourite but I really loved Pittsburgh and am having tons of fun in Edinburgh!
BFP Apr 2012, EDD Dec 19 2012 * twin h/b at 6wk, 9wk scan * Baby A lost at 12wks, Baby B was my rainbow born at 36wks
Good afternoon! Went running some errands today, had to drop off dry cleaning and went shopping for some accessories for my birthday. Not much else going on now that I'm back at home.
QOTD: As much as I love being an expat, my favorite place that I've lived would have to be Austin. Great food, nice people, the lake, tons of stuff to do and of course, it's "home"
