Lol I have been in a blue mood lately so P keeps trying make me laugh. His best ideas yet are making fun of how I speak with a southern accent (same accent he has) and shooting a nerf gun into the ceiling fan and hoping the little foam things fall on me and pray I will crack a smile. I promise he is indeed not ten in all honesty he is about to be twenty. What kind of things has your DH/SO done to cheer you up?
Re: DH's weird ways
Honestly, that sounds about right for a 20 year old male. My H usually runs a bath, hands me a glass of wine and a book and takes the kids for a walk for a while. Either that or just leaves me the hell alone for a little while and then comes back with ice cream. He's a smart man.
If what your H is doing isn't working, tell him what will. Guys don't get women and they really need to be told how to deal with us. "Hun, I love that you are trying to bring me out of my funk, but you are starting to piss me off. If you really want to make me happy, how about you try A, B or C" They like multiple choice.
If I'm in a bad mood, first H asks if I'm hungry (that's the most common reason why I'm cranky). If the answer is yes, he will make or get me food. If the answer is no, he asks if there's anything he can do and if I can't think of anything he just leaves me alone.
He has learned from years of bad experiences lol.

I guess it depends on why I'm grumpy. He's gotten good at knowing when to sit and listen, or when to leave me the heck alone. Cuddles and wine usually helps though.
ETA after reading Mary's- totally he will ask if I need to eat. I get crazy angry eyes when I am really hungry. like the hulk
I changed my name
DH usually just buys me food or wine when I'm upset. I'm like Mary, though. If I'm in a bad mood it's usually because I am hungry.
My Blog
Food. DH will go to the ends of the earth to attempt to acquire any particular item of food I might be wanting.
He will also comply if I request a hug or any type of massage.
Back rub, kisses, just doing what I have asked to be done. In general just being himself.
However, I always stress about money and he loves to do things like " Oh we should buy a rocket ship!" Newest one was popped on me the other night when we were talking about babies. " Well I need a new truck first lets go get one now then you can have a baby" He thinks its funny to throw the idea of large sudden purchases out and see what I do. I do not think its funny.
If I'm not hungry, he knows chocolate usually helps. He also takes LO so I can relax and/or nap. If the timing is right, he has been know to suggest an outing to the mall.
I'm glad to see I'm not the only crazy woman who gets cranky when she hungry.
DH leaves me alone. We have a journal that we write in(mostly me) do he can read my thoughts later(usually when I'm not home) then he'll decide if we need ton discuss it. By then I've calmed down and I'm willing to talk.
It's definitely not just you. Hungry Stella = cranky Stella every time. Also if I'm sleepy or need a shower. Warm showers have an amazing effect on my mood.
