First birthday gift ideas
My friend's little girl is having her 1st birthday party this weekend. I got a her a set of little Disney Princess board books. I can't think of what else she could want/need and when I tried asking my friend, she didn't get back to me.
So, anyone have ideas for me? What were some great gifts your kiddo got when they turned one? What would you find most useful at that age? It could be something smaller or bigger, as my sister and I may go in together to get something.
Thanks for your help!

Re: First birthday gift ideas
Books are a great gift no matter what age, especially for story time. That being said I'm a huge fan of giving books.
What about some wooden peg puzzles?

Ella got so many awesome gifts for xmas and her birthday.
She plays with the remote and DH's calculator. No lie. So my suggestion would be things with buttons.
Also, she got lots of bowls with lids and spoons that bend for self feeding -- those are great. Other good things CDs (Pixar's greatest hits), gripper socks, diapers, a stride rite gift card, a spring coat. Walk behind toys are great -- but see if the child has any. We have THREE at home ...oh nope, FOUR and one at my parents'.
