Woohoo: Found a Flat!

Just wanted to share!  We're downsizing from a 2-bedroom in Earl's Court to a 1-bedroom in South Kensington.  The location is amazing - tons of cafes and just a block from the tube - so we're pretty excited.  And it's only 25GBP more a week (although it is one less bedroom)...

After viewing at least 40 flats, I'm SO GLAD to be done!

Hope the other hunters have the same luck soon :)

Re: Woohoo: Found a Flat!

  • Congrats!  I read that as Found a F I A T and I was super excited.  This is cool too :)

  • Great!  We've seen a few places we like, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.  Still a few more to look at and then maybe put in a bid.  Must be nice to have it settled away!  When do you move?

  • That sounds fabulous! Congrats.
  • I read your title as you found a wallet! LOL

    Congratulations on the new flat!

  • Let us know when you become a member of Boujis! Great location. We lived in Earls Court for ages before moving to Wandsworth (we spent a lot of weekend mornings at Balans). .
  • Thanks, everyone!  No, I didn't find a Fiat or a wallet, but that would have been cool too ;)

OMG, I will kill DH if he tries to become a member of Boujis!  We have friends who are members of Soho House and Nobu, and it's so expensive.  Better just to tag along with them ;)

The kitchen and bathroom are really small, but it's all updated and in really nice condition.  And there's a DISHWASHER!  This is on my non-negotiable list ;)  And a separate washer and dyer!   The flat actually has tons of storage, and a WALK IN CLOSET, woohoo!  Plus, it's on a garden square, so we get a key for just 50GBP.  I can't wait to take Oscar (fur baby) out there to run and run - he will LOVE it.

We move at the end of March.  For those who are also looking, I don't mind sharing our rent:  450GBP/week.  It's probably the cheapest rent on a true 1-bedroom in South Ken that's not purpose-built, so we're feeling pretty lucky.  Even though it's still a boatload of money for 500-600 square feet :(  So there's hope, ladies, there's hope!

    Good luck in your searches!

  • Congratulations!  South Ken is lovely!

  • Congrats! I love South Ken, but we live out East a tad because it was just too expensive for us. Seems like you're getting a good deal for the area, though!
