I've seen a lot of military surprise homecomings. It wouldn't work on me. I always have my back to the corner and my face to the door. Looking for terrorists, criminals, various other threats, and husbands.
Re: C&P drama
Her insurance wouldn't pay for the sterilization?
Has she heard of essure? http://www.essure.com/
It's cheaper than getting pregnant and having a baby... and they test to make sure it worked. They even have a payment plan if your insurance doesn't cover it all.

I don't believe that. I think the fact that you acknowledge it's their desire and it's not happening is a form of empathy.
I've never been in the position that I wasn't able to conceive and I can't imagine what I would be feeling if year after year I failed to do so but I will never understand how chewing someone else out because they have what you want makes you feel any better. It's along the same line of thinking when people call for a person to be "fixed" because they continue to have children they can't support...the universe isn't going to give those potential children to another "more worthy" couple if that happens.
I only read the GP link.
Telling a 30+ year old woman who's been married for over 10 years to keep her legs shut? seriously?? and then telling her that since so many women have a hard time getting pregnant she should be grateful? unbelievable.
yes, she definitely posted on the wrong board, but someone could have simply directed her to a better one. She didn't deserve all that.
Wow. Just wow.
I know that this is the internet and people will act however they want, but that was absolutely unnecessary of GP.
I really feel for that woman. I can't imagine how hard it would be to have to deal with an unplanned pregnancy. Man oh man. I hope that she finds some good support somewhere else.
I read this yesterday and was completely disgusted. The gang up mentality on that poor woman, then drudging up her past/past posts and making her explain. Sickening.
Yeah, I saw this yesterday. It's pretty disgusting. Even though you don't want the baby at all and were taking precautions to avoid this situation, you should have the baby and be GRATEFUL for it because there are infertile women out there who would love to be able to accidentally get pregnant.
Sound logic.
She said that they'd been saving up for a procedure for her. She'd also been on the pill (something like four years, I think) since their last kid, so she didn't really have a reason to think it would fail all of the sudden.
I think she also said she'd be looking into essure after someone else mentioned it in one of the threads.
isnt this one of the big reasons they started the TTTC, TTCAL, Snarky and TTTC type boards? So that those struggling with that can have a very designated place where lurkers dont accidentially pop in and put their foot in their mouth?

This is what really bothers me.
There is a way to politely say "hey did you know about this procedure?" or "That sucks, so what are you thinking you're going to do" or plain just saying "sorry, hugs".
There is no reason to bash her.
I must have missed the additional parts about saving but I read about her taking the pill. I'm glad someone mentioned essure since it is much more reasonable cost and pain wise than the traditional route of tying ones tubes.
I don't understand why people are angry at her though - wrong board? It was an oops and you either figure out how to work another child into your life plan or abort (I realize this comes off as matter of fact but that's how I see it). Then you move onto how to prevent in the future so you aren't faced with the decision again. The bashing of her is beyond words.
