s/o nail polish

do you branch out to lots of colors or do you have something you stick to?

for whatever reason i just cannot bring myself to wear something that isnt a shade of red or pink. sometimes purple, but it has to be dark like Lincoln Park After Dark.

Re: s/o nail polish

  • I try to branch out, although I have my favs for each season.

Lincoln park after dark is my go to fall shade if nothing else inspires me. I also have a go to summer and winter color also.

I did just try a brown on my hands the other day which is different for me

I will probably never put anything neon on my hands or toes, I just can't bring myself. I also don't really ever do blues.

I love the neon pinks, oranges and purples when I am at the beach. I think it goes well with a tan.

I stick to dark polishes in the winter and lighten up for spring and summer. I used to be an acrylic junkie - but now that the nails are natural I etiher get shellac french or leave them plain. I have oily nail beds which causes the polish to peel within 20minutes of application. I painted my nails last night and they were almost all off within an hour. Not worth my time. I am more adventurous with my toes because I hate my feet and dont let most people see them.

  • I have been sticking to pink/red for quite a few years. I did get two gray-ish colors for my cousin's wedding from Essie that I really like and a turquoise that I hate.

I think I may pick up some new colors this weekend. Purple, maybe blue, and summer colors like yellow and greens.

  • I like a little bit of everything, especially for my toes.  I tend to be a more conservative for my fingers, sticking with the reds and the pinks and the neutrals... but for my toes it's anything goes -- blues, blacks, greens.  It's fun!

  • I'm really wild with mine.  50% of the time they're some shade of blue or green.  Navy or dark tealish colors in the winter, bright turquoise and sky blue in the spring, neons in the summer.

The other 50% of the time they're either a really bright pink/ purple, or I'm trying to find a shade of red that isn't fug on me.  Oftentimes topped with glitter.

Toes are whatever suits my mood.

My clothes are really classically styled, so I figure why not.

  • I find that on my fingers, pinks, reds, and purples look best with my skin tone so that's what I stick to. on my toes, I'll go a little more wild. I like dark purples, dark blues, and black. That's my goth side coming out, y'all.
  • I'm automatically more drawn to more purplish shades.  I'm so not girly so I don't really have anything pink.  The pinkest any of my polishes get is like more magenta.

And I never have my nails done, only toes.

  • I really wanted to be able to pull off a gray polish. I love the look on other people. MB got me Essie Power Clutch for Christmas and I like it but I just feel like it looks so stupid on me. Its probably because I'm just not used to it.
