Cliff notes version: He thinks it's either a polyp or wacky hormones, and he ordered a pelvic u/s for this week or next to rule out a polyp. If I'm not pregnant this cycle, I'm taking BCPs the next two months to try and reset my poor body.
Long version: I saw my OB this morning for my "why the heck am I bleeding????" appointment. He thinks the random red bleeding may indicate a polyp, so he's ordered a pelvic u/s for me to have before I get my period to evaluate my lining and look for polyps. If it is indeed a polyp, I need a D&C to remove it (boo). If it's not a polyp it's probably hormonal.
I talked to him about trying BCP for two months to give my body, mind, heart, and soul a break and he said that sounded like a really good idea and it may act as a "reset button" for my body. He even said he thinks I may be more fertile right after stopping the pill, and thinks I should get pregnant easier next time. He also assured me that they will follow me closely next time with blood work and ultrasounds, and we talked a bit about whether I want to do any advanced testing like a CVS or amnio given my Trisomy 21 diagnosis last time.
While I was waiting for the doctor, the NP (who I also love) came in to say hi to me. After my last miscarriage I wrote the office a letter with my experiences in their office and thanking them for their excellent care. She said she wanted to thank me personally for writing it, and that it made her tear up reading it. We chatted for a bit and she told me she thinks about me from time to time and will keep me in her prayers. ![]()
I also managed to keep from all-out crying the whole appointment, which is impressive for me, heh.
So overall I feel okay with the plan. I was talking to one of my coworkers yesterday who's like my second mom and she agreed that a break might be a good ide for us. She almost started crying and said that I look really run down, and she just wants me to be happy again. It was really sweet.
There is still a chance I could get pregnant this cycle, but I'm really not optimistic about it at all. But stranger things have happened, I guess... Thanks for the T&Ps and hugs from my previous post. I really appreciate it. ![]()
