Places that seem exotic to you right now
When I lived in Florida just out of college, places like Scotland and Ireland seemed very exotic to me. The idea of green rolling hills and cold temperatures was very foreign to my flat-land, humid reality.
Now, California seems so exotic. Even though it is part of the same country I just left behind, it is so vastly different from New York City that I feel like it's practically a different world. A little girl from DD's school here in Paris is spending the winter break in Los Angeles and she may as well have told me she was going to the moon.

The amazon.... I guess I don't really think of places as exotic any more, I just think of them as a place I have to get to soon! Every place is different and I love that!
