nothing sounds good.. food related.
lately it seems like no food sounds good ever. i never feel satisfied and when i do think of what i want, literally nothing sounds good. except ice cream.
what do you do to beat this?
i used to LOVE pizza and i had some and it was barf. i usually love mcdonalds, had some, it was barf. I usually love mac&cheese, had some, and while it was great, it was too rich so i didn't have a good taste in my mouth afterwards.
i feel like i haven't had a real meal in a few weeks because nothing sounds appealing.. maybe in eed to make some sort of stirfry when i get home and see how that goes.
i just want real food! and i want it to taste good to me!

we're having twins!
Re: nothing sounds good.. food related.
i think you gave up so much "bad" stuff that now that you are eating it again, your body registers it as "bad" instead of "food"....so it's a good thing. pizza, mcdonalds, cupcakes are not exactly healthy.
try a good fresh salad with lots of toppings....beans, corn, peas, nuts, seeds...yum. that sounds good to me right now.

usually a steak will clear that up for me too.. maybe i should try it! lol.
Totally agree with Jennlin's point about your body registering food as "bad" instead of tasty - I had a slice of cake this weekend while in Seattle and felt so ill after eating it because my body isn't used to that much sugar anymore. Your body is probably reacting the same way and that's why it doesn't find that type of food appealing anymore.
Some of my favorite healthy snacks:
-Spinach salad with homemade dressing (or just EEVO and balsamic vinegar)
-Hummus with veggies or whole wheat pita
-Unsalted nuts
-Stirfry (lots of veggies with a sauce, or I have a great recipe for some spicy, sticky "Chinese" chicken that's delicious and super easy to whip together - I can dig out the link if you want it)
-Grilled chicken with polenta (not as bad for you as a lot of other carbs; medium on the glycemic index) and then some veggies - that's a go-to meal for me and I just use one of the spices / rubs I have for the chicken
-Quinoa - if you haven't cooked with this yet, you should give it a try. You can get bags of the stuff at Costco for not very much money and it's really pretty good for you, especially if you eat it in lieu of a carbohydrate like rice, potatoes, etc. Low glycemic index.
My trainer has told me to focus more on the glycemic index of carbohydrates than the % daily value or overall grams - because your body needs carbs, obviously, so the trick is eating the ones that don't boost insulin, which in turn lead to fat retention in your cells.
You will find something you want to eat, I'm sure!
Kimberly and Jenn make great points. I've also found that since my body has adjusted to far fewer sweets, a slice of cake or a cupcake will give me a massive sugar headache and make me feel gross all day.
I'd definitely try the steak! We actually eat a lot of steak. I like to sear mine medium rare and top with sauteed onions and mushrooms, and pair it with a warm spinach or broccoli salad. That almost always sounds good.
And, it's ok to just snack if you don't feel like eating a full meal on a given day. Listening to your body and figuring out what it actually wants is a good thing.

crust used to be my favorite part.. it makes me wanna gag now.. just feels so heavy and i feel bloated.
i LOVE stirfrys and all things like that. super yum. i talked to my boss about it and i think my problem is that i just haven't been cooking. i'm going to go home and cook some real food tonight and i'm actually excited about it.
i've never cooked with quinoa.. i should try it. new things scare me. vegetables don't.
lol.
it's just so weird because when ever i've done this before, i have always LOVED those things when i decide to cheat. now it just isn't worth it. i think i just need to stock up on veggies and make myself stirfry-esq stuff.
i don't think my 2nd job has a microwave..
just a better excuse for you to eat veggies instead!

is it bad that raw veggies give me MAJOR gas?
it's kinda embarassing.
It's because the fibers aren't broken down making it more difficult for your digestive track to break down causing gas. Totally normal.
Give it a try. I find it surprisingly easy to cook (and to integrate into things such as salads), and it's seriously one of the best foods out there for you in the grains / starches / carb-like food categories (I think it actually is related to a green-leaf veggie, though). Google it and read all the health benefits and find some recipes - that might get you excited about cooking it!
Actually, I just did a quick google search - check out info on quinoa here: http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=foodspice&dbid=142
