Today's Dr. Phil...
Watching Dr. Phil, while working (ha) and the topic is a guy that cheats on his wife (claims the marriage was sexless, etc) with another woman.
Thing is, woman is a biological male, and is now female. *Haven't discussed whether she had the surgery or if its just hormones she's taking, but nonetheless..
His wife says "I cant wrap my mind around this, this is an abomination."
So, whats your opinion - is it worse that he cheated on her, or worse that he's cheating on her with a transgendered person?

I think the cheating is the worst part of it. The transgender is just an extra thing that his poor wife needs to try to accept as her new reality.
And yeah, the really really worst part is that they're still married.
Well-- Watching it hit close to home* for me. Here goes, add it to Betty's effed up Family File.
Yeah my parents got divorced because my dad was cheating on my mom with men. My mom had to find out through her stable-boy at the barn that she kept her horse at. He had gone out into the woods & seen some seriously questionable things. Turns out everyone knew but my mom. They were simply too embarrassed, shocked or scared to clue her in. It was a clusterfook that took place in grade school.
My mom is happily remarried now & my Dad is openly living as a gay man. Unfortunately he did manage to contract HIV when he was not looking out after himself in the beginning.
This woman should file for divorce on the cheating aspect alone. Then get herself tested, and see a shrink. There will be a lot going on for her.
This is what my mom told me:
a.) It sucks that your spouse is cheating with ANYONE.
b.) If it is a person of the same gender or a transgendered person then you start to wonder if your entire marriage/love/relationship was either a coverup or a lie.
c.) I've seen it turn my mother into a very bitter person with regards towards the GLBT community.
That is a really REALLY difficult situation to go through. I would think that yes, it would suck so bad to get cheated on, but that the person was transgendered would make anyone think the whole thing was a sham.
*The wife on Dr. Phil just says that she feels like she'll never get those 22 years back. This guy is a trip, he's not apologetic in the least for the affair ("Its her fault, no sex..she made this happen" kind of response)
How could you not think your entire marriage was a sham if your husband is cheating with someone biologically male?
Nope.
This actually happened to a friend of my sister's around 5 years ago.
Beautiful girl, she's married to this guy for I dont know how many years. All I know at the time, their daughters were like 6 and 3ish. Anyway, on the outside, they had a great life - he has tons of money, they own their own brownstone in the village, life is easy, right?
She was a stay at home wife, and I believe on "That Day" was supposed to be out for the bulk of the day (had some kind of appointment).
Appt gets cancelled, she ends up going home to find her husband in bed with a transgendered hooker.
She stayed with him I believe another almost 2 years...they did therapy for a bit, and then filed for divorce.
But she was trying to make a go of it.
She shared all that while out with my sister and I for drinks...
I think that Dr. Phil is really selling the sensationalized transgender bit of the story. I think that the other woman, and the details thereof, don't even rank on their list of problems.
Dude thinks that the sun rises and sets in his peen. That's the biggest issue.
Wait a second... how is being married to a bisexual person a sham?
The man on Dr. Phil identifies himself as being bisexual. One of the extramarital affairs that he had was with a woman. He stated the reason for his focus on men was because men were more willing to participate in casual sex.
He knows. It just wasn't discussed on the show.
I can't believe wife was waiting for husband to make up his mind who he wanted to be with. There is no way in hell I would stay with my husband if he cheated. Especially if I found out it was 22 men, two women, and 1 transwoman.
I would be like, don't like the door hit you in the a$$.
I really feel sorry for this wife, she has no confidence in herself, and she seems so nice.
