Fashion opinions, please!

I am having trouble with pant sizing right now but want to indulge in all the colorful spring apparel rolling out, so I am thinking about skirts.    The only pencil skirts I have are boring colors and I only wear them for work because they seem more professional instead of playful   (grey, black, navy).

My question is this:   do you think a bright pencil skirt similar to these would be cute for both work and nonwork stuff (girls outings, vacation dinners, etc)?     Or do they still look kinda stuffy/professional?     I tend to get more A-line skirts b/c they fit both settings a bit more in my eyes, but I am kind of loving these new styles:

Jones Wear? Print Sateen Pencil Skirt

Worthington? Belted High-Waist Print Sateen Skirt

Re: Fashion opinions, please!

  • I think they could work for both.  A cami and cardigan for work and a tank for time with the gals!

  • Definitely the top one.

The bottom, I'm not sure, but I don't see why not.. especially paired with a dark top.

We're pretty laid back - "business casual" leaning more towards casual, so I may not be the best to input

(but I did it anyway, bwahaha)

  • Definitely can be fun if every other part of you is fun (hair, accessories, top) but can also be professional if every other part of you is professional (hair, top, etc.)

haha, well I appreciate every opinion, since I am not very fashion-sensable at times.

I feel like some attire, particularly work attire, makes me look older so I only wear them at work.    I want to look my age at work, but would rather look younger when I'm out in the public having fun!    Trying to find pieces that are a good balance, so if I spend money I can make it stretch the most.

Exactly what I was going to suggest!

  • I like them both

for work a cardigan will make them look professional

for play layered camis and solid t's will go well
