WFD?

I am going shhopping after work and have no ideas. I want something that looks and tastes awesome with little effort

Re: WFD?

  • ooh!  i know!  take out!

we're having "french dinner."  strawberries, pineapple, delicious crusty french bread, sliced smoked gouda, olive oil and balsamic for dipping.

    and wine for me.

    kiss it, nest.
  • I'm making Brett bunless burgers and I'm going to make special sauce from a copycat recipe.  Blech.

    I'll eat cereal.

  • Beef and broccolini stir fry with brown rice.  I may throw a red pepper in there too, if I feel like stopping at the grocery store on the way home.

  • I have been doing takeout a lot. I talked my H into picking the kid up for daycare with a promise of fresh vittles
  • I want cville's dinner.

We're having buffalo chicken enchiladas. If I don't hack up a lung making them.

  • I'm picking up barbeque after my first laser hair removal appointment.

  • What's the buffalo chicken enchilada recipe again? And I love French dinner. I want Brie though.
  • Taco night! Old El Paso taco kit, ground beef, shred some lettuce and chop up tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, walla! Dinner is served.

This is my favorite dinner, seriously. I make it once a week.

But alas, I marinated some chicken last night so I'll toss that in the press and make some rice. That's one of my favorite simple dinners. I used to do that with the George Foreman all the time in college.

i wanted brie too, but my husband is responsible for food in our home.

bonus for french dinner:  toddlers love it!  many small items to pick up!  the (fake) feeling of choice!  we usually give the kid some broccoli too.  and butter the bread, instead of olive oil.  she goes nuts thinking that she has options.

    kiss it, nest.
  • I have absolutely no idea.

My favorite quick meal is chicken + wheat pasta + sauce. cut the chicken up into bites so it cooks faster. Mix it all together once everything is cooked/heated and wham! dinner.

This was our plan but I went out for tacos with a friend for lunch.

My husband doesn't like white trash tacos.  He prefers this elaborate preparation with deep frying.  It's ridiculous.

  • I like the way you think cville. I might do tacos tomorrow night. Or easy quesadilla.
  • winged, i have a confession.  i'm not sure who your avatar is, but i think it's manwinged?  and that it was created with some facial editing software?  it looks kind of like that guy who had that blog and dressed up like peter pan.

anyway, even though that's not you, today i also lurked on you guys's OOTD and literally gasped when i saw your actual, pretty face.  you're so that peter pan face in my head.

on a somewhat related note:  some people think i'm a crazy cat lady because of my avatar and at least 3 people were at one point convinced that i am asian (i am not).

    kiss it, nest.
  • Yes it's manwinged from morphing software. I will take any and all compliments though   But he isn't Peter Pan. He is this guy. http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/57021859.aspx sorry I'm on the iPad so it's not clicks. But seriously. Check the link.
  • I forgot to add, I use fat free sour cream instead of RF, and RF cheese to cut down on fat/calories.
  • We're having a breakfast "mess" - sausage, peppers, onions, scrambled eggs, potatoes, and a little bit of cheese all mixed together and topped with salsa.
  • Homemade mac and cheese with cauliflower and chicken in it.   So, casserole.   Don't tell Lila it isn't just Mac n cheese

  • Manwinged, do you like huevos rancheros? That's a good fall back for us. Corn or flour tortillas, beans, cheese, eggs and salsa. We switch it up and use black beans instead of refried beans sometimes. It's delicioso.

Another is grilled chicken breasts, topped with cheese (I like cheddar, but whatever cheese you want would work) and black beans. Serve with a side of veggies.

Come to think of it, we haven't had either of these for a while.

  • See, I like this thread.  I've bookmarked the black bean burrito bake.  Looks like a great easy dinner.  We just grilled up some frozen turkey burgers, roasted some asparagus, and, to keep from being too healthy, had some good old fashioned Kraft Mac 'n cheese on the side.  That bit was D's idea, but I didn't put up much of a fight.

  • I threw some chicken breasts on the george foreman for Heith, reheated baked salmon for me. Put them both on some cous cous with a bit of alfredo on top - walla. Zero greens or veggies, and I'm too lazy to do anything about it.

  • We had chicken and biscuits. I also have been loving on chicken taquitos lately. Easy abd freeze well. Sweet potato and black bean burritos are on the menu for tomorrow. Cville, I am loving your dinner. That is right up my alley. Like your daughter, I like options.

  • I made this.  I love it so very much.  I add baby corn to it also.
