Natural way to clear a drain?

Our tub is super clogged - to the point that any shower/tub use takes almost an hour to drain. I've tried some natural methods - using a plunger to try and 'clear' it and then trying a concoction of enzymes from a natural cleaning company (their products usually are great, but just not cutting it this time).

I need some ideas here, please? Does a vinegar concoction work? Something else more 'natural'. I hate the idea of using Drain-O, since it is so incredibly toxic.

Use this (zip-it)

Then follow it with your choice of natural cleaners (enzymes and/or baking soda followed by vinegar and hot water), then maintain it with enzymes, etc. to keep it clear.

The tool above is meant to be disposable, but we (dh) use ours several times before it needs to be tossed (rinse in between!).

Ditto CDMay on the zip it - and it's really cheap too. DH loves to show me how much hair he's pulled out (between me and my 2 girls) lol.

Yep. The Zip It is pretty good. I'm always amazed at how much that thing pulls out of the drain. Then baking soda and vinegar and plug the drain for a bit to allow it to work and force the clog down. (If you don't plug the drain, the mix can escape out the top and not force the clog down.)

We've had good luck with a crochet hook, and then a metal drain strainer to keep it clear.

I've actually read that using the mix isn't good for the pipes. Straight white vinegar followed up by hot water really does the trick just as well. The vinegar eats away the gunk and it improves the flow just as well.
