s/o Catholics

I have noticed that there's a LOT of Catholics on TN. There are like hardly any in my area so this stands out to me.

Think it goes along with the middle/upper class female demographic?

Re: s/o Catholics

  • hmm maybe.

Im catholic and all of my IRL friends except for 1 are Catholic also. Yet I am not overly Catholic so its not like I only hang out with people who share my religion or anything.

  • growing up in St. Louis (insanely predominantly Catholic), I literally did not meet a non-catholic person until I was in HS.  I'd still say 90% of the people I know are Catholic, so my perception of the religion ratio isn't the most unbiased.

  • I only have one Catholic friend, and she's from our board.

Or at least, I think. I'm honestly not really sure what most of my friends are. We don't discuss religion...ever.

  • I grew up in a different part of St. Louis than Neuner did and I didn't go to private/ Catholic school, so while the majority of the people I knew growing up were Catholic it wasn't everyone.  The specific suburb that I grew up in was about 20% Jewish; a couple of my good friends growing up were Jewish, and one was Episcopalian, so I had a mix.

I didn't think TN was overly Catholic.  Maybe I missed it.  Or maybe just my local isn't?  IDK.

  • I just noticed that there are a lot of Catholics on the ML board (I noticed this yesterday b/c of the Lent talk, which lead to someone saying something insulting, which lead to a big ol' throwdown) and I knew a lot of you were Catholic so I thought it was an interesting thing.

maybe I noticed it more because I only know one person irl who is Catholic. I would venture to say that the most dominant sect of Christianity in AR is Baptist.
  • I live near Boston -- as we gots are Catholics.
