Ultrasound law came to the PA General Assembly

Re: Ultrasound law came to the PA General Assembly
The whole thing is bullshit but these two points really make me angry:
The bill ? advanced from the Health Committee in the state House on Feb. 6 ? would force women to undergo the procedure at least 24 hours before an abortion is to be performed. And that a photo of the ultrasound be placed within the patient?s line of sight and given the opportunity to listen to the fetal heartbeat, according to the language of the legislation posted on the General Assembly?s website.#1 12.11.11
#2 10.23.13 EDD
Also, the comment about 'an ultrasound is a good thing for a pregnant woman.' Yeah, well what if she was raped? Should the ultrasound be a reminder of her trauma?

This is the same general assembly that in late January passed a resolution declaring 2012 as "the year of the bible."

Yes, and I sh!t a brick about that. I spoke to many local politicians and got all rage-y.
I would write to mine, but he CO-SPONSORED THE BILL.
I would write to mine, but he CO-SPONSORED THE BILL.
UGH.
Maybe thats even more reason that you should. Tell him that he is NOT representing the views of his constituents.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
The VA governor is now saying he won't sign the VA bill that was recently passed. This stupid law caused such an uproar across the nation and in his own state (there were protests) that the bill either needs to be modified or tossed.
Get on the phone. Or FB. Or write an email. Or donate $$ to PP. Even if you just do something to counterbalance one of the people that would be for a bill like that you're making a difference.
No worries, I will be making a stink about this. And working hard to elect whomever is running against him in Nov.
Here is a good place to start: http://www.paforchoice.org/
Here is how to find your legislator: http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/legis/home/findyourlegislator/#address
Um, even more of a reason. He's YOUR legislator! Tell him he's not representing you!
Remember like two months ago when everyone had their panties in a bunch about the economy? Seriously what the fuuuck has happened that all of a sudden there is this war on women?
I will tell you - it is 2012. Everyone is blowing their crazy wads because they figure Jesus is coming back this spring.
I just wrote my rep. this makes me want to VOM.
I'm so disgusted and angry about this. I'll definitely be writing letters and making calls about this.
There are so many reasons women choose to exercise this right. None of them can be easy choices and none if them are for fun. Yes there are a few people who use them as a form of birth control but there are also plenty who have reasons that have nothing to do with irresponsibility. This is never an easy choice and there is no way this will pass supreme court review but that's a long road.
A friend posted a meme on FB last night that I think most of you will enjoy. It's potentially NSFW so I'll just add the link below.
