H thinks it's still too cold to run with LO

The weather here was awesome today--almost 60 in Massachusetts in February. I was dying to go for a run, but had DD all afternoon and H was dead-set that I not take her out. She does have a cold right now, so I conceded. But WDYT? What temp is appropriate to take LO out for a 30-45 min run?

  • Is he concerned about the breeze in her face? I think the fresh air would be good for a cold. I would just put an extra layer on her and go for it.

  • I think 40 degrees is a good cutoff.  If it is overly windy, I would skip it, but only because I didn't want all the sand blowing in their eyes (ya know from winter storms- they usually clean it up in the spring but before that it can be brutal)!  ANd, with the cold, I would skip it too - young kids take forever to get better if you don't slow down and let them recover.

  • I take my girls out when it's 60ish I just have them in jackets with hoods on and a blanket for their legs. They are fine. Go for it just dress them properly.
  • My cut-off for a toddler was 50 degrees.  Bundle her up and she'll be fine.

  • 60 here is practically summer. Your H is nuts.
  • Ditto. 60 is T-shirt weather here! I was expecting your little one to be 3 months or under, I can't imagain not taking a toddler outside all winter long! We play outside just about daily, regardless of the weather. My kiddos would go crazy without some fresh air. We just dress for the weather.

  • I have biked and jogged with my kiddo in below 0 temps before. I think you're more than fine. Slap a cover on that stroller.
  • I used to bundle DD up in a snowsuit and blanket and run on an icy path with Yaktracks on. . . yeah, it was cold.
