Family TIP
My mom called me last night to tell me that my cousin and his wife are getting a divorce. This is probably the least surprising development I've ever heard.
A few years ago my cousin and his wife randomly took in a little girl who was the daughter of a woman who lived in one of their rental properties for a few years. The woman had gotten into drugs and left the girl when she was around 4.
My cousin told his wife and everyone else that he was going to claim the girl was his daughter so they could get custody of her. When he was ordered to take a DNA test and it came back a match, he said he had bribed a technician to falsify his DNA test.
No one believed him - except his wife. But no one had any proof so nothing was said. She bought this line wholeheartedly and welcomed the girl into their family.
Apparently mom showed up at their door last week and spilled the truth. And now they've split.

You know what though? I feel awful for that kid.
Wowza. She never had a clue? Does the kid look like him at all? Ugh, and now she's been raising this girl, I assume as her own, to find out it's her H's love child.
@Betty - I feel bad for her too. She's a sweet girl despite a tough life. She loves playing with DD. The good thing is my cousin's wife still has her at the house with her brothers so she didn't kick her out with him or anything and she gets to maintain some semblance of normal and home. I'm sure it must hurt her but she's honestly just such a nice woman.
@Motzie- I think she looks a little like him but not enough to be startling or definitive. They have very different coloring but I think she has some of the same features as him and definitely his boys.
