Where did you stay in Aruba?

Would you go back? Is Aruba mostly for families? I'm looking for more of a romantic anniversary resort/hotel.

Re: Where did you stay in Aruba?

  • We stayed in Bucuti/Tara suites and loved it. I believe it is adults only and it was very romantic. We had a really good time, but I wouldnt go back to aruba.

  • Why wouldn't you go back?
  • We go to Aruba often because it is close to where my in-laws live.  We usually stay at the Hyatt.  There are a lot of couples there, but also a lot of people with kids.  I really like it. The beaches are clean, the people are very friendly, the food is good.  If you want a really relaxing vacation that isn't too exotic, Aruba is a good choice.
  • Bucuti, hands down.  Best weather we've ever had on vacation, beautiful beach, and a beautiful resort.  Easy access via public transport to restaurants too.
  • H and I went there for our honeymoon and going back in a couple weeks. We have a timeshare though, so I can't recommend resorts. I've heard great things about Bucuti though, which is on the same beach as where our timeshare is. I would definitely say that Aruba is a romantic getaway, we love it for a relaxing vacation.

  • We have stayed at the Marriott hotel years ago and it was not overrun with kids at all, it is really gorgeous expecially now.  We own a timeshare at the Marriott Surf Club so that is where we go now and b/c it is a timeshare there are a ton of kids.  But when we go out to dinner I never feel like there are a lot of kids, actually it is almost always just our kids and sometimes one other family.  If you stick to the nicer restaurants you will not feel that it is a super family place although I do recommend Aruba for families.  We love Aruba, we did before kids and still do.

there are just places that i loved and enjoyed more. nothing wrong with it, but i loved other islands better.

  • yes, love love Aruba.  Have been there a few times and planning another trip.  We loved the Radisson on Palm Beach.  The Hyatt is beautiful as well.

  • Another vote for the Bucuti. The hotel itself is nice, but to us the most important thing was the beach. The high-rise hotels (Hyatt, Marriott, etc) are on Palm Beach, which is really busy and doesn't really lend itself to strolling out at whatever time you wake up and having a space to lay out. Eagle Beach, where the Bucuti and other smaller hotels are, is much nicer and calmer, and that was what we were looking for.

  • We went to Aruba for our HM and loved it!!!  we stayed at the Bucuti Beach Resort (Tara Suites), it's amazing!  The beach is so quiet, there was always chairs available and at times felt like we had the beach to ourselves.  We visited the high rise area and it was nice to shop/eat, but I'm glad we chose to stay at the low rise section.
