Does anyone do TRX Training?

New here...I am trying to drop about 30 lbs post baby (about 6 months pp). I just signed up for a 6 week TRX boot camp. I am having a little bit of a hard time adapting to the equipment and the moves. Just wondering if anyone has any resources where  I can find a bunch of the common exercises to improve my form. Honestly, I am just a flail when it comes to any athletics, I don't have a good sense of spatial relations so just seeing the move once is not helpful and I find myself spending half the time trying to get positioned right so I am missing out on the workout and I feel embarrassed. Also, 3 days in,  I am feeling lots of soreness in my legs, but not so much in my core or arms which is where I need the most work - any ideas? Is TRX not necessarily good for this?

Re: Does anyone do TRX Training?

  • I've been doing TRX bootcamp for about a year now, in addition to running. I think if you are looking to lose weight you need to do some cardio also but if your are watching your diet then TRX could be all you need to do.  As far as the technique, it takes a couple of classes to get the hang of it. Make sure you are always squeezing your butt during the moves and try to stay as close to a plank position as you can. Watching some clips on You tube might help you as well. Stick with it, its a great workout and my arms, legs and butt have never looked better. My core is super strong too. I hope this helps.
  • I agree with above poster that watching the videos on you tube can help a little, but honestly getting adjusted to TRX takes some time.  At my gym we have a 5 week intro class where we just learn the basic moves and then it still took me awhile to feel comfortable, and even still there are some days when I feel like I am lost or falling all over the place.  But with all that said I have found it to be worth it and noticed some nice changes in my core and arms.
