Stomach Bug

How are you and your families faring with the nastiness that is going around?

My kids have been battling the runs on and off since the end of January, and this past weekend it escalated to the other end too. I took DD to the ER yesterday morning because the pedi was concerned that she was dehydrated. After receiving anti-nausea meds, she asked for a snack: her first interest in food in days. Fortunately, she was discharged without needing an IV. Now, both kids are feeling much better and nibbling at food, while DH is home sick today. It hit him yesterday. And me? I'm just wash-wash-washing my hands after just about every encounter with my sickly crew.

How are you ladies doing?

Re: Stomach Bug

  • I'm hoping the one you have now is the same as what we got about a month ago, although the order was reversed, so I'm not sure it is :(

Tynan caught it first. It was my first experience with him throwing up and it made me so sad :( he threw up once at 11pm, which DH heard, and we got him changed and put back down. When he woke up crying at 5 like usual, I went in and he was covered in dried and wet vomit :( he had thrown up 3 times during the night but didn't even make a peep. The next 24 hours I would nurse him, he would throw it up, an hour later I'd get him to nurse and keep that down while he napped. Repeated that all day. Thankfully he didn't get too dehydrated, even with the few days of the runs after that. He threw up all over me a couple of times, and by the 2nd day I was sick, although it only took me 24 hours where it took him 48+. DH never got it, though! Lucky guy.

Hope you don't catch it and that everyone recovers soon!

  • so far no stomach bug for us but I'm afraid to write that because i feel I might jinx us.  We do have colds running through our house, but I'll take that over a stomach bug any cay.  Hope you ladies stay well!
  • Fortunately seems that DH just had the 24hr verdion of it. The kids are finally eating and feeling a lot better today. And *knock on wood* I haven't gotten sick. Hope this is the end of it all.
