As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

OMG! I almost died tonight(not literally) but- it's a little long...
I'm home by myself with the boys, we are eating dinner & Tristan needs to poop. He's been having issues, so I take him out of his highchair & put him in his playroom (our empty office - which is gated off near the kitchen) and he does his thing. I'm in the kitchen with Brian & Gavin when Gavin decides he needs to go, so in the bathroom he goes. Now I can hear Tristan but can't really see him from where I am in the kitchen. So about 15-20 minutes go by, Gavin finishes his business - I help him out, he goes back to eating dinner & I hear Tritsn throwing toys into the hallway. I figure he's done with his business, so I'll get him & change him. I get to the playroom & the GATE is OPEN & there is NO Tristan. I start freaking out, wonder where he is because he really couldn't have gone very far. A few options, across the hall to the dining room, down our basements steps or up the stairs to the bedrooms. I run frantically back & forth from kitchen/diningroom/playroom wondering where the hell is he. There is no where for him to hid when all of a sudden I look up... he climbed the stairs (all wood) to the top & is looking down at us on his knees right next to his room. I thank god that the past few days when we are going upstairs he has been climbing the steps all by himself. But these steps have a tricky turn that I don't want to even think what would of, could of, might have happened. If I were a cat I think I just used all 9 lives tonight............

Re: OMG! I almost died tonight(not literally) but- it's a little long...
I can't easily gate my stairs so instead I gate the hallway leading to the stairs. But you can also get to the stairs through the dining room which I haven't gated because S doesn't seem to know that path.
And that is how I found S upstairs playing in the bathroom when I came out of the bathroom one day!
