Anyone running Cowtown this weekend?

Which race are you doing?  Have you run at Cowtown before?

This is my 3rd time to register for a Cowtown event, but last year I decided not to run, so it'll only be my 2nd time to run.  I ran the 5k back in 2010, and I'll be running the half this weekend. It looks like we should have perfect weather for the event!

My training has been absurdly lacking, but I'm not out to PR or even "race", so I'll make sure and take it really easy if I need to, so I don't get injured right at the beginning of "official" marathon training for Anchorage this summer.

Re: Anyone running Cowtown this weekend?

  • I'm not, because I ran the Austin Marathon this past weekend.  I did the half in 2009 and really liked the course & medal. Weather today is so nice, hope it's great for you this weekend. If you haven't run the Austin marathon or half DO IT, best race I've run.  Course is hilly but the race is so organized and the swag is good, Nike shirt & spibelt's new wrist band for all racers.

  • I'm not, but I've always heard good things about the race!  Good luck, I'm sure you'll have fun!
  • I am! This is my second year to do the half.  I almost did not sign up b/c I did Austin last weekend and I have NOLA R&R next weekend - but decided to make this a supported long run, so I am not looking to do anything special, except finish.

I have been taking the week very easy and getting lots of sleep to help recover from last weekend, I am ready to go.
