Recs for taco seasoning and ranch seasoning mixes please

Dh doesn't cook all that often and when he does prepare his few staple meals, he uses some prepared ingredients that I just find too salty.

I remember seeing some taco seasoning recipes floating around. Can anyone suggest a good one?

I'm also looking for a ranch dressing type of mix. He makes stuffed potatoes and uses ranch dressing, but I would rather him use a bit of buttermilk and seasoning so it isn't so salty. Any ideas?

For the ranch dressing - you can actually buy buttermilk powder. I'd think you could probably make a dry mix for that, too.

Allrecipes has a slew of taco seasoning recipes, although if you're used to teh packaged kind, just a warning, they never seem quite as potent to me and I feel like I need to use more of them than the recipe says which, depending on the recipe, can end up pretty spicy.
