Help me think of a cupcake business name
I'm going to start selling cupcakes out of my home* and need to think of a fun business name. There is already a cupcake business in my town with the name Cupcake Couture. So, I'd want to stay away from that type of name.
Here are a few that I like but I'm really open to suggestions.
Cupcake Love (when I google this, there are are businesses w/ this name already so I know I'd need to look into trademarked regulations)
Amy Cakes (I am not interested in doing cakes so this could be misleading)
Amy J's Cupcakes
--Thanks--
ETA: The * is that it's not technically out of my home. I need to be licensed and part of the requirement is to lease a commercial kitchen.

Re: Help me think of a cupcake business name
I'm just throwing out anything--they don't necessarilly make sense
The Curious Cupcake
Cupcakes & Coffee (this would only apply if you expanded into a cafe type shop)
I also like your Amy J's Cupcakes
Frosted Heaven Cupcakes
Sweet Bliss Cupcakes
If you plan on only ever making cupcakes I would stick with a cupcake name, but if you think that you might ever expand into something more you might want to consider something a little more general to baking. EX:
Amy's Baked Bliss
I agree with this and like Amy's Baked Bliss. :-)
Do you need any taste testers??
I just might! I know you live in the SLP area...I work in the SLP area. This could work out well :-) I will let you know!
I would try and find a name that wouldn't limit you to only cupcakes. You never know how it could grow and you may hire another baker that specializes in cakes or cookies.
I do like Baked Bliss but I'm guessing that is probably being used. Not to be a debbie downer but you may have hard time finding something that isn't used. Is there a landmark or something that is unique to you or your area. For example, I live in Hastings so there are a lot of "rivertown" type of business names.
Good luck!
That's a great suggestion, thank you. I'm sure it would be a huge PITA to have to change up the name.
It might be just me, but when I hear "Baked Bliss" I think of stoners, being high and happy . . . and craving cupcakes.
Which might work for you, or might not - depending on the image you want to put out there.
haha, that's funny!
When I first said "Cupcake Love" my DH thought that sounded dirty.
Ditto all of this! Of the three you listed, I like Amy J's Cupcakes. SO exciting!
My Bio
Married Bio
Haha I was just teasing but if it's a real possibility then count me in!! I love a good cupcake. :-)
I'm not creative and don't have any good suggestions for names, although I think you've gotten some good feedback from PPs. I just want to say that I think it is really awesome that you are going after this dream! I have joked about dropping out of grad school and opening a bakery for the past four years. Of course, I'd never have the guts given all the loans I have, but baking has always been a passion of mine too. Maybe when you expand, I can be your cookie gal?! Good luck with your new adventure.
Oh and if you were serious about taste testers, I'm very close to slp.
Late to the game, but what about a one word title, like "Bites?" It would include anything that you felt like making, since you technically take a bite out of everything. If one day you opened up a store front and had wifi, you would say "Bites now has bytes!"
I keep coming back to "The Busy Baker" in my head. Congratulations on being brave and going after something you want.
You guys are all so awesome! Thanks so much for your feedback, suggestions and thoughtful words. I'm super excited but also SO imitated by it all; the whole process.
If you leave me your email, I'll be sure to email you when I need taste testers & when I'm open for business. I bet it is against TN rules to let you know...unless I word it very carefully ;-)
Again, thanks everyone. Oh & destination... I'll keep you in mind for cookies!!

i's also very late to the game but i have never liked businesses that have the person's name in them. it's doesn't strike me as professional at all. your business name is the very first impression so it should evoke the reaction you want from the person searching. maybe think of words you would want someone to use to describe your cupcakes in either their look or taste.
i also agree about using the word cupcake. great if you're sticking with just that but might also be nice to go a little more generic in case you want to expand.
what an exciting idea! congrats to you amy. : )
good points. I've had some reservations about using my name in the business name as well.
Thanks!!
Having been licensed out of a rented space for cakes in the past (lost the use of space because the guy who was running the IL's business for them is a royal AH)- a few things from hindsight 20/20... Go to a website company and see if the name is available. Also, what name makes the most sense in terms of how you want to carve out your niche and limit yourself. Cupcakes in the name is great if you want to limit yourself to cupcakes but what we've seen in the cake industry (I still have a lot of ties) is the market being saturated with cupcake companies and business'. What is going to make your cupcakes different from Sam's with the buying power of billions and charging $.75 or less per cupcake... Quite simply, you want to grab people's attention in a positive way such as there is no question what you provide and the level of product. When I chose my business name, I also did a lot of work on the linguistic end of things. The name limited me to upper end work because that's the niche I wanted for myself.. The name worked, my business literally took off just as I got the shaft and created a pretty deep scar on my ever wanting to partner with another business for renting space..
The point being that all of this factors into choosing your business name and it needs to be something that you'll be passionate about and only you know that answer based on your business instinct..
