disney's hilton head island?
Has anyone been here? Any other recs on hilton head?
My concern with the Disney property is the lack of dining options....

Sorry, have not stayed at Disney properties. The Marriott Vacation clubs are great with kids. They have full kitchens so with kids you can have food/milk in the room. I don't think they have great food at the resorts but there are some restaurants that are good. As I mentioned before, Charleston is only about 2 hours away and Savannah only an hour and they have great food options.
Defnitely look into Kiawah Island - here is a link - http://www.kiawahisland.com/kiawah-island
they are hosting PGA championship so they must have good golf. also about 20 miles from Charleston

I travel to Hilton Head all the time.
The Disney property is disappointing in my opinion (I'm a travel agent and it is my job to inspect these places)
If your are going to Hilton Head, my personal favorite is the Hilton.
It's a low rise with lots of foliage instead of a mass of cement on the sand like you'll find at most places. They have a snack/sandwich shop with is a nice bonus and the dining there is very good.
