OK, it took two years but I have little setbacks along the way. I was heavy in HS, lost a bunch and kept it off in college and in my 20s.....For me the key is working out. A lot. I think I just have a sluggish metabolism.
So I POURED on weight at age 30 between quitting smoking, getting married and having baby (s). After the birth of my son I had 80 pounds to lose. UGH
I tried every.single.diet. on the face of the earth over the past few years and you know what? I can't be "on a diet" BUT there really is something to learn from all of them. I have probably done 10-15 "diet" programs.
For me, I need to eat as clean as I can, but allow myself to eat normally sometimes. (Last night I had a slice and a half of pizza). I really limit the whites (bread/pasta), and I like to eat a lot of protein and produce). Whites set me over the edge-for me it is an addiction.
And I ALWAYS lift-no matter what....even if I slack on cardio. And I have fallen in LOVE with Zumba! I attribute losing losing about fifteen pounds since the holidays to lots of Zumba (and always the lifting).
So maybe by summer I will be down the last 30? Maybe it'll take longer.....I stopped giving myself time limits. I do have a lot of skin that really bothers me-boobs, belly, arms....all need lifting. But that's down the line (maybe?).
