Has anyone tried Couples Swept Away in Negril?

We're looking for an all inclusive and the few we've been too were Excellence Mujeres which was nice and Sandals for our HM.  Couples Swept seems to be getting good reviews on trip advisor.  Any feedback on it?  Also is the resort big?   thanks!

Re: Has anyone tried Couples Swept Away in Negril?

  • We were there about 7 years ago and we loved it, it was awesome! I would definetly suggest it!

  • We won a free honeymoon there and liked it a lot. All inclusive isn't really our thing... but we wound up digging it. We had a private dinner on the beach which was really romantic and special, so if you can arrange that I highly recommend it. (It cost extra, but was worth it.) The couples massage is also fantastic.

Oh, and if you like frothy alcoholic beverages, the hummingbird is to die for.

  • We went there for our honeymoon 2 years ago and loved it, the beach is so beautiful and the food was excellent!

Being from Florida we have nice beaches here so we ended up going back to Couples last year but went to San Souci in Ocho Rios and liked the tropical feel of it.

You can't go wrong with any of the couples resorts. We never felt pressure to tip (except for the drivers/luggage guys at taking you from the airport), they don't skimp out on the alcohol and everyone is so friendly. We want to go back again this year but I'm not sure if we'll be able to swing it. I highly suggest going to the message boards on couples.com if you have any specific questions or want to get a feel of the resort before booking.

  • Not couples... But we just got back from The Jewel dunns river in ocho rios and had a great time!!! Look it up on trip advisor, and read all the reviews! Its such a great place- staff was incredible and basically like " whatever you want, well do!" honestly we felt spoiled! Lol great food, drinks- all included. Beautiful beach and pool area...definitely worth checking out!
  • We've actually have stayed twice at CSA and that's saying a lot because we are not usually travel repeaters.  First time we went was for 5 nights, second time was for 9.  Needless to say, we really like it there.  It's a larger resort but the way it's laid out, you wouldn't know it.  And the food is really good, not like most ALs.  The staff is fantastic and the resort offers free catamaran tours daily that was such a good time.  The beach itself is gorgeous and never seemed overly crowded.  The only thing that needed work was the room.  It was clean, but you need to remember you are in a different country and expect some of the furnishings and utilities to be a little dated.  Oh, and they'll bring breakfast right to your balcony/patio which turned into one of the best parts of our day.  Nothing like sipping Jamaican coffee & eating cheese danishes while overlooking crystal blue water.  If you are still unsure, do check out the message board on their website.  There's lots of great information there.

  • We loved it but we preferred Couples Negril down the road.  The one thing that we liked more at CSA was the room since we went all out and had a wonderful beachfront suite.

  • We went to Couples Swept Away in 2005.  I found the restaurant selection to be lacking at the time.  I've heard that they've opened more restaurants since then, though.

This was the only time we went to an AI and this is where I learned that I'm not an AI person.

The resort itself was nice enough and our room was lovely.  Just not my thing, though.
