Some of you may remember that I had surgery on my (left) knee about a year ago for my IT band and meniscus. Took me a while, but I started running again and that was great. A couple of weeks ago, I started getting pain in my right knee. Seriously??? I got an MRI done and I'm happy to say that the meniscus is fine. However, I have a fissure of the cartilage, but it's not a surgical issue. I only went to my primary care doctor since he is easier to get in to see than my orthopedist is. As a runner, he could tell that I didn't want to go to the ortho so I am going to continue training (for Ironman 70.3 Rhode Island in July) and keep an eye on it.
Although I was feeling sorry for myself, I know that I am very lucky to be able to do this at all. Happy training!

I did everything for my IT band problems. The only thing that helped was the surgery, which is pretty rare. But, I'm glad I did it. This other problem is not with the IT band, it's cartilage that is cut and it's on the inside of the knee.
