Okay, March Mommas, how are you feeling? When are you exact due dates? and who will let us know when your little ones arrive? How are the babies doing?
Love, a baby-crazy July nestie
Re: **SLAHsarah & azel**
I'm doing great. 37 weeks (as of Wednesday). My due date is March 14, although DH and I have agreed that we are not interested in an induction if at all possible.
Baby girl is doing well...at my appt last week, she was estimated to weight 5lb 14oz. So I'm expecting about 7 lbs 14 oz. at birth.
Hopefully I'll be on shortly after delivery to update!
Do you have medical reasons to worry about induction (other than going overdue)? I was an induction, but it was b/c I had gestational diabetes. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, 9 hour labor start to finish (10.5 hours if you count the 90 minutes of pit that did nothing to me, lol)....I really would have preferred to go into labor on my own, but this was safest for everyone in the end....hoping with the next kiddo I can do it all myself
Glad you are feeling great and doing well. I am so excited, I am so on baby watch this month & next month for about 5 babies
Is it sad that I want to do it all over again already? (I won't, don't worry!!)
One doctor I see mentioned that he would prefer to see me deliver between 39-40 weeks. I didn't question him about it that week, but did the next week. He said because of 3 factors he thinks the placenta may deteriorate more rapidly. But that the chances of it happening are less than 1%.
My other Dr had said just the day before that she would be comfortable going to 41 weeks. I guess we were just surprised with the conflicting opinions. We agreed, with both doctors, that we would let nature take it's course and I would be coming in for visits more frequently if I did make it to 40+. But that if the baby showed any signs of distress or lack of growth/movement, I'd be up for induction.
The bolded is why I had to be induced - GD causes premature deterioration which is why they only let you go to your due date, at best, even 100% diet/exercised controlled. I am surprised your docs had such conflicting opinions - how many are in your practice? Mine had 5OBs (3 NPs) but when it came to my GD, they were pretty much 100% in agreement no matter who I saw, y'know?
I hope you will get to go on your own, since statistically you are more likely to go 40+. I'll be praying for you and baby to be healthy no matter how it happens though
