Other driver frustration POLL

What is the one thing that other drivers do that frustrates you the most?

For me, it's people who slow down a crazy amount (or stop entirely!) to turn right.  I often wonder if people know that they CAN turn at 25 miles an hour and don't have to slow down to 5!  (Obviously, this does not apply when there is a red light and they HAVE to stop first).

It's also those people who don't turn on their turn signal to make those crazy slow turns until they are also slamming on their brakes.  Awesome.

  • Yep, the stopping completely to turn right when it's unecessary drives me nuts.

I also can stand when people don't pull to the left of the lane when they're turning left. Unless you're a big truck that makes wide turns, your left tires should be near the center line when you're turning left so that I can pass you! haha

  • What about the morons who swing left to make a right turn?

I got into an accident because of one of those idiots once! The person actually pulled to the left and stopped, so I stopped behind him for a few seconds, but assumed he was probably waiting to take a left turn (no turn signal) and decided to go around him. As I did, he turned right and hit me. Of course, it was my fault because I was passing on the right. :(

  • I don't have a dog in this fight because I don't do either of these things... but something I find funny is when there is a traffic jam due to a lane closure, there seems to be two kinds of people.  The people who fly all the way up the closed lane and then scoot in, cutting in front of everyone, and the people in big ole trucks trying to police that situation by staying half way in the closing lane so people can't do it.  I've seen lots of honking and bird-flipping resulting from these two practices.

Oh and my personal driving pet peeve is break-happy folks, who break every 2 seconds just slightly, for no reason at all.

  • OMG I have so many....

    (1) The people who fly up the middle lane on the highway and then try to cut over into the loooong line of people who are waiting in the exit lane.   You're not a genius, you're an assshole.

    (2) People who drive with their brights on.  it's mostly dark 'back' roads around here so brights are necessary but I turn mine on when there are no cars approaching, and then off when there are.  Others are not as kind and I hate being blinded.

  • People who don't use turn signals...or the ones that do, and assume that just because they flicked it on, they can automatically go instead of waiting for someone to let them over.

Um, I can't stand it when people don't wait their turn like everyone else and decide to just butt in, so I kinda love it when other people keep them from doing it.  Justice!

My biggest peeve is people who text, talk on the phone, eat, put on makeup, or whatever the hell else distracts them from actually driving.  I actually witnessed a person in front of me today get halfway into another lane before realizing it...and only then because I honked so they wouldn't hit the car beside them.  Seriously...you're traveling 70 miles per hour in a machine that does not care if you or anyone else lives or dies, you can't put the GD phone down?!?!?

Also, the people who act like its a race when you start to pass them. Pick a speed and drive it.
