We just heard gun shots.
WTF
DH called dispatch and they'd already been notified with officers and EMS in the area. He turned on his radio and everyone is ok. It was probably just an idiot shooting nothing, then fled. We live in a small, compact university city and we're right in the middle so the sound carried.
Seriously. WTF is wrong with people.
Now I'm all jumpy and can't sleep.

I would had a mild panic attack. I jumped when the smoke alarm went off today while I was baking.
It would have scared the poop out of me, too! I am glad your H was there so you weren't alone, how freaky!!
I sure hope everyone is okay and the shots were just a warning or misfire.
When I lived in a less-than-desirable 'hood in Houston, I would hear gunshots every now and then. It always scared me to death, and a lot of nights I was alone, so I'm really glad DH was there for you! Also glad it was nothing serious!

Milsey, I set my smoke alarm off a few days ago baking also! Haha. I hate when that happens.
Sapphire, DH really didn't find out anything else. The 3rd shift officers said no one was hurt (thank goodness) and there was no damage to be found, but they also don't know who was fired the shots. It sucks when things like that happen because the dummy got so many people jumping and worried!
Lex, that's so scary! I can't imagine hearing gun shots all the time. This is the first time I've ever heard something like this within the city from home and it really freaked me out. I know there have been other shootings and DH has been present for some, but it definitely shocks me, lol. We live in a decent area too, but lately things have been happening all over town..eek.
