There's a possibility I'll be in Toronto next weekend, Friday night to Sunday, with my husband. I imagine the cold temps will limit how much wandering around we do on foot, and any outdoor attractions are probably closed for the season. We're not sports fans, though I hear the Hockey Hall of Fame is interesting. Any attraction recommendations?
Also, any restaurants recommendations? We're pretty open to a variety of cuisines, no dietary restrictions, and our budget is loosely "moderate" - whatever that may mean in a major metro city. No white tablecloth coat-and-tie restaurants, essentially.
Thanks for any tips!

Re: Highlights in Toronto?
I LOVE Casa Loma - its a castle that a gentleman built in the early 1900's, I believe, but then he went bankrupt and now its run by the city. Easy to get to on the Subway as well.

Also in that area is the ROM - Royal Ontario Museum - very cool place to spend a few hours.
Another cool thing to do if you like beer is the Steam Whistle brewery tour - and its right downtown so its easy to get to. I think you have to reserve in advance.
If you like heights and you have a clear day you should definitely go up the CN Tower.
If you like the theatre, check out Mirvish, Princess of Wales Theatre, or Second City. If you like Art, the Art Gallery of Ontario is great.
As for dining, some of my favourites: Canyon Creek (Front St); Hot House Cafe (I think its Front ST?, Duffs (if you like wings); Lady Marmalade, The Esplanade Bier Market (also a great bar at night!!), Papaya. For a quick breakfast, I like Eggspectation, for Sunday Brunch the Hot House Cafe is amazing but definitely make reservations ASAP.
If you WERE sports people, Real Sports Bar & Grill is amazing. Its right at the ACC too and the screens are amazing; plus the food is pretty good.
It's not that cold here compared to usual temps for winter. Actually, I think next weekend is supposed to be nice (but that changes in a heartbeat). Dress appropriately and you'll be fine.
I second the ROM because it's interesting. Distillery District is a definite. St. Lawrence Market is fascinating. Subway is very easy to take, if need be. I second Casa Loma.
Echoing LaurierGirl... , Eggspectation or Hothouse Cafe is a must. Yum. And the Real Sports Bar & Grill is fun even if you're not sports people. Seriously.
