I hate to admit this but I'm completely bored with this show! If it doesn't pick up I may have to give it up because I already have too many shows I'm watching .... Anyone else?

Re: The walking dead.
I just started to watch this, I did watch all of season 1 and the first half of the second season and it has slowed down but I still like it. last night?s was interesting, I like how Rick is becoming.

I have been on the fence with this show for awhile but I agree w/ the above comment. And I think they're building up to some crazy things...
They didn't cut his leg off. Rick just ripped him off of the fence to get the eff out of there.
ETA: Oh, I totally agree about Lori. When she convinced Rick that Shane was losing it, MH said "FINALLY she did something RIGHT!"
I thought last night's episode was really exciting - much more so than almost any in recent memory. And some of the gorey stuff was just really gross - the guy with his face being eaten off (not saying I'm having problems with that - it being a zombie show and all). I definitely feel them building towards a Rick/Shane showdown.
Not sure what Lori was trying to accomplish in that final scene with Rick but definitely was feeding him some interesting information. Does she want him to take on Shane? Kick him out of the group completely? Still - I was also hoping her face got eaten off in the zombie scene.
Can't help it - taking off in that car and not telling anyone...
Interested to see what, if anything, develops between Daryl and Carol.
How the heck far is town anyway? So timeline - Rick and Glenn go in to town in the afternoon to get Herschel. It gets to be dusk, the two expendable crewmen come in. Rick kills them. Then it is night. The rest of expendable crewmen's group comes in to town. Shooting. Guy gets stuck on fence. They pry him loose and take off back to the farm and it is suddenly... mid morning? Anyway. A minor issue - just something I noticed.
I'm still hoping Meryl shows up.

I was thinking the same exact thing. I guess they were in the bar longer that we thought?
I really liked this episode and it got me excited for what is to come. I watched it on the small TV in our bedroom but think I am going to rewatch it on a big TV in the living room tonight since I DVR'd it just so I can see some of the scenes better. Little tv across the room + a lot of dark scenes=can't see what is happening.
I hate Lori; I've never liked her, and the stuff she was saying to Rick about Shane is only adding fuel to the fire. I hope Rick and Shane end up fighting and Lori gets shot/killed by trying to get in the middle of it... wishful thinking.
I keep waiting for Meryl to show up as well. I would think that if they weren't going to bring him back then they would have already discovered him dead somewhere. I am thinking he's joined up with the new group of people they've started encountering.
I wonder how much longer the group will stay on the farm. I am getting a tad bit bored with the farm scenes; I think it is more interesting when they are on the move.
Ok, apparently I have more to say.
I like how they are dealing with the moral dilemmas - especially with Herschel and Rick's characters. When Herschel obviously wanted to go back and shoot the guy who was being eaten by zombies and screaming for help (that's a pretty awful way to go...) and then didn't. Then with the guy impaled on the fence - it was endangering their lives to stay with him but how do you just leave someone who was abandoned by his team and then will likely be ripped apart while still alive? To be honest, I'm surprised they didn't just shoot him since it will endanger the group by bringing him back to the farm. It's really about survival of the fittest now. And I'm happy to see the group being presented with these types of decisions and it will be interesting to see how their characters develop.

My thought on this is she is convincing Rick that he needs to kill Shane in order to protect the group as a whole. He was telling her about killing those guys and that he will do what it takes to protect them....and she's testing this and feeding into his head that he needs to kill Shane. Just expelling him from the group isn't going to do anything because this guy is seriously becoming a loose cannon.
Love it.
This has crossed my mind.
Finally Lori is doing something sensible?
And this is why I would not survive the zombie apocolypse - my mind didn't even go to suggesting Rick kill Shane. But Lori's suggestion gets to the moral dilemma I was alluding to earlier - there is what is morally right and there is what you need to do to further the survival of your group and I guess the species. Or...something like that.

haha yeah... and I think we're going to get into a lot more of that. I see the show getting a bit darker from that aspect.
And for some reason I am getting really uneasy with the way Dale has been running his mouth about Shane. I'd hate to see something happen to him, he's one of the (literally) few characters I tolerate.

I think eventually they're going to have to start expanding their group--I think the only way for them to ultimately survive is by slowly clearing space and killing zombies, but that don't seem to be thinking that far ahead yet.
I would be perfectly fine with Shane and Lori getting eaten.
I don't see Lori's veiled suggestion that Rick shoot Shane as redeeming or smart of her at all. Especially with the way they staged it, with her starting the conversation by taking off her shirt, then whispering in his ear, it came across as very Lady-Macbeth-devious to me. She's a b!tch, and she got herself into a social problem that she can't handle, so she's trying to get Rick to murder someone for her. I don't see her as being motivated by group safety at all. I was totally disappointed that that first zombie didn't make it past the windshield. Shane is probably going to get several people killed (if he doesn't kill them himself), but the whole group is talking about him and plotting like this is Shakespeare or ancient Greece. I'm looking forward to the day he takes a truck and disappears.
I also don't think Herschel was ever going to go back and save the guy who got his nose bit off. I do think he was considering shooting the guy to put him out of his misery (which would have been nice), but then he decided not to waste the bullet (which was maybe the smart thing).
That whole argument about saving the guy whose leg was impaled was a stupid stupid time suck. The discussion about not cutting him free because he'd lose too much blood, but then it's ok to cut off the leg... I'm sorry what? How is he not going to lose blood if you cut his leg off?
The imagery of that pole with the curly-cue point on it was just awful (in a good way), such a simple way to make the impalement that much worse (since you couldn't just lift the leg off).
I'm still annoyed that the show has deviated so completely from the comic books which are far superior plot-wise.
Michonne!!!! Where the hell are you??!!
I don't think this half of the season (or any of the series, really) has been dull.
One of the things that makes this show so great is the character development. We're to a point in the group's story where we're seeing the situation really take a toll. While the long dialogue (and usual lack of walkers, with the exception of last night) could bore some, it's all there for a reason, and I don't mind hearing it.
Lori hinting to Rick to kill Shane is completely selfish, but let's be honest, Shane is going to (or try to) kill someone. Probably Rick. I won't get into how it goes in the books, incase people haven't read them, but I think it's going to go down almost exactly like that. And it's going to happen soon.
The relationship between Carol and Daryl is starting to get interesting. I felt terrible when he was biitching her out, because she must have had a thousand encounters with her husband like that one. It definitely changed the way I feel about Daryl, but I understand that he has mixed feelings about the group after everything that has happened.
Can Beth just zomb-out already? Has anyone even checked her for bite marks? You think someone would think, "Hmm, she's sick all of a sudden, and it happened right after her walker momma tried to eat her. Maybe we should examine this further." She's going to wind up killing someone (*coughMaggiecough*) if they don't wise up.
I really thought they were going to kill Glenn last night. I would have been pissed.
When Rick ripped that guy's leg off of the fence... man. We really need some new blood in the group, and even if this guy winds up causing more trouble than anything I'm glad they're introducing new characters/situations at least.
I'm pumped for next week.
I agree that rescuing the guy was not a smart call, but wonder if perhaps Rick went in that direction *because* of what he just did (shooting the other two guys in the bar.) Maybe he needed to remind himself he's still human. His character has obviously been losing much of his idealism, and will certainly continue to do so...but it will probably happen slowly with a lot of vacillating.
Isn't the guy whose leg they tore from the fence from Rescue Me??
And...I can't believe Herschel didn't shoot that poor guy whose face was being eaten by zombies, to put him out of his misery! I kept yelling "SHOOT THAT POOR GUY!!!"
Guess what I got for my birthday last month? Compendium 1! Now I just need to read it. Lol.
Ooooh, yes, you are right! Then they would have spotted Hershel too if he fired his gun. Didn't even think of that!
