Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker

Has anyone flown Air Berlin?  We found great priced tickets from LAX to Rome (less than $1K each for September) on Air Berlin offering us a day layover in Berlin on route into Rome and Duseldorf on route home.  Ready to book but wanted to see if anyone had any comments on them first.

    I've flown them. I was lucky enough to fly business class, but overall I thought the service was really good, the food was good, and all my flights where on time and without stress. The price is good, and I'd jump at a chance to go back to Berlin, even for a day.

    I've flown them within Germany. My only complaint is that the didn't understand why we paid for an infant seat instead of having him sit on our laps. On the way to Munich, they even made us hold him during takeoff and landing (most of the flight) and they said it was because it was the safest thing. Other than that, I enjoyed the actual flight. They gave everyone chocolate at the end and because we were the last people off and we had an infant, they gave us a ton of chocolate.
