anyone ever space a hop around the world?

I've done space a before, but I've always had responsibilities (dog) to go back to, so I couldn't just keep going.

Now that H is soon to be deployed (well, sort of, but it counts for the letter :), so I can travel as much as I want in those months.  I have no dog, and I have yet to find employment, so why not?

Should I be an adult and diligently look for work?  Or should I just be a carefree backpacker?  I'm really really tempted to just lock up my apartment, pack a bag, and go where the winds take me.

Re: anyone ever space a hop around the world?

  • Go now while you can! There will be times, and locations better suited for working. Besides, since your DH will be deployed, you are a higher category for flying, right?

If you find yourself in Germany, let me know!

  • This is the first location where I can work, so I feel compelled, plus I just finished another degree for a new career path. I feel guilty not starting it right away. But, I'm good at justifying hedonism :)

While I'd love to go to germany and visit a friend in england, I doubt europe would happen. It's hard to get to from asia. Most trips from this side stop in the desert first. I haven't figured out a wai there that doesn't involve heading east to get there in a really roundabout way.

  • Do it! DH deploys soon and I'm a SAHM so I have nothing keeping me here. I am already planning on spending a month or two in Europe with DD as well as jumping around the states. We can afford it, DH loves the idea, and DD is an amazing traveler so I'm going to take advantage while I can!! :)

When I say roundabout, I mean stars aligning on a minimum of three long flights.  Here to the west coast, then to the east, then over to Europe.  And I'm guessing those are all popular routes!

I do love that our AMC has a facebook page.  Maybe I'll go to Pago Pago tonight :)  Oh, wait, H hasn't left yet.  He can hurry up.  Or how about a little dive trip to Kwajalein?  Now if I could just find a flight to a good ski spot...
