We have been skunked!

Well, DoggyExtravaganza was on Friday night.

We have spent the last 2 days trying to rid ourselves of the horrible smell. While DoggyE doesn't smell anymore (thanks to our excellent groomer!), our house still does.

I am so frustrated.

Re: We have been skunked!

  • Oh no!  Poor pup!
  • oh no, that stinks (no pun intended, but ha!)!  have you tried febreeze? their commercials make it seem like they can fix it so even your sh*t don't stink.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Oh no! That's awful. I hope you can get rid of the smell soon!  It's supposed to be nice-ish later today, so maybe you can open up some windows.  Good luck!
  • We went out most of the day Saturday while DoggyE was at the groomer, so we left the windows open then since it was not too cold. We have been using febreeze spray, febreeze noticeables, lysol, and those little cone air fresheners in every room.

The first floor is mostly fine now except every so often you get a whiff of it. The second floor (the bathtub we washed her in right after the spray and the empty bedroom we had her sleep in that night) are still pretty foul. We got Skunk-Off yesterday and I'm going to give it a whirl today.

Interestingly enough, it doesn't even smell like skunk when it's so concentrated. It is a different (still awful) odor, but not skunk like you smell outside.

  • Ugh, good luck.  That would make me so miserable as I have a pretty sensitive nose.  Hope the Skunk-Off works!

  • Uggghhh.

Try setting out cups of white distilled vinegar. Smell it every day and you can tell when it needs to be poured out and a fresh cup put out.

I will have DH pick some up on his way home! Thanks for the tip! I will try absolutely anything. Haha
