Countertop Rotisserie?

Does anyone have a countertop rotisserie oven?  If so, do you use it a lot?  How long does it take to cook a chicken in it, and how big of a chicken will fit?

I am thinking about getting something like this, but am wondering if it's only good in theory.

Re: Countertop Rotisserie?

  • For me it would be too much of a unitasker for how much space it takes up. I'm also thinking cleaning it wouldn't be very fun. I bought this chicken roaster at Sur La Table. It can be used in the oven or on the grill. It makes delicious chicken.

  • My mom had that one on the informercial for years and years, the Showtime oven. It was wonderful. Chickens and roasts were so delicious in it. I don't even know if they make them anymore, but I'd recommend them to anyone. And, I'm picky about kitchen equipment!

I love my rotisserie attachment that I got for my grill. That's always another option, although not countertop.

  • We have a George Forman rotisserie and really like it.  We can cook a ~5 lb chicken in about 90 min in there and it gets really tender and juicy.  I have also used it for a pork roast and fish before.  I think we use our about once a month or every other month probably.

  • We got the Ronco one as a wedding gift and have never used it.  I would rather just buy a rotisserie chicken.  Thanks for reminding me that I need to put the thing on e-bay! ;)
