I used to be really good about planning out weekly meals, shopping on Saturday or Sunday for everything I needed, and rarely needing to stop at the store during the week for things. Over the last 6 months or so, though, I've gotten really bad at planning ahead and find myself at the grocery store 3+ times a week to pick stuff up for lunch or dinner. I'm trying to get back into a better shopping routine and just got home from getting everything I'll need for this week. Here's my meal plan:
Today: I'm roasting a chicken and using it for chicken and rice soup
Monday: Chicken from Sunday will be used for chicken pot pie
Tuesday: DH has school, so I'll make broccoli and penne alfredo for myself
Wednesday: frozen pizza--quick and easy for DH since I'll be visiting a friend and her new baby after work
Thursday: turkey burgers and rice pilaf
Friday we always eat out and Saturday I'll need to shop again.
What will you be making this week?

I did really well last week. We had pot roast that turned into vegetable soup, roast chicken, and chicken fajitas.
This week, DH is out of town again. He comes home late tonight, leaves tomorrow at 2, and comes home Friday. I'm guessing lean cuisine will be my dinners.
ETA: I can't believe I forgot that I made 20 quarts of spaghetti sauce. We freeze it as lasagnas and sauce. I've been eating leftover lasagna for 3 days, the rest is in the freezer.

This week is all about comfort food because everyone in my house is deathly ill, unfortunately... so I'm making some childhood favorites.
DH's favorite from when he was a kid... Pillsbury Chicken Squares.

One night will be pot roast. Another night will probably be Garlic Cheddar Chicken. I think I'm going to try out a new soup of some kind. Pork chops and applesauce another night... like I said, lots of comfort food!
This is week 2 meal planning for us.
Tonight - pot roast, potatoes, asparagus
Monday - company dinner
Tuesday - H has a dinner meeting so I will probably do grilled cheese and soup
Wednesday - quinoa cakes with poached egg
Thursday - salisbury steak, mushroom gravy, potatoes, roasted green beans
Friday - either perch or dinner out
Saturday - company dinner
Star those Chicken Square things sound yum.
I am making a homemade mac n cheese tonight and then DH and Jane will take the leftovers for lunch during the week.
We're having:
white chicken chili twice
southwestern pizza
fettuccine alfredo
balsamic chicken w/ pesto and mozzarella.
Today I've shredded the chicken for the soup, used the leftover bones to make more broth to stock the freezer, and cut up veggies for lunch this week.
The plans this week are:
French Dip Crescents with Au Jus
Swedish meatballs with egg noodles
Braised eye-of-round with gravy and mashed potatoes
Cajun chicken pasta
Garlic chicken in Balsamic Vinegar
Salisbury steak with potatoes
Stuffed pepper soup
I still need to figure out sides for most nights, but I usually figure that out last minute (usually noodles or rice, and a veggie and a bread of some kind).
I made 2 baked pasta dishes last night (like ziti but I use rotini instead). Froze one and the other is for tonight
Also we have some apple chicken sausages, quiche planned, and making pizza on friday.
I got my thumb dug up last wednesday (another wart removal since this wart has not gone away) and it still hurts so want food I can eat with fork and knife so I don't get the wound nasty and stuff that is easy and not much hand involvement.

We're still doing really well with stuff in the freezer that I stockpiled before the baby was born.
Tonight, we are having burgers at Chammps with friends.
The rest of the week...
Tacos (with taco meat I made and froze)
Turkey corn chowder (also made and froze)
Meatballs (made and froze... seeing a trend here??)
Spicy italian sausage spaghetti sauce (leftover from a big batch I made last week)
