What is the best vacation that you have ever been on (or favorite city that you have visited) within the continental United States?

hmmm. Tough to choose.
San Fran- honeymoon and we traveled to Napa Valley and Yosemite. I want to go back to Yosemite (bear boxes and all!)
Chicago- Love the city life. (but not a fan of NYC) Oh, also like Boston, but I'd rather Chicago.
Some point in my life, I want to own a house in the mountains and another in the city. I'd travel back and forth at my leisure.

Good question! I love Nashville, Memphis and San Francisco. I was really surprised at how much I loved Tennessee I wasn't expecting much but I ended up loving it.
DH and I are hoping to go back this fall to a place in the Smokey Mountains.
I can't answer with just one, so I will give you our favorites. They depend on what kind of vacation you are in the mood for.
1. Manhattan - love than city like not other! We have a blast everytime we go. So much to see and do. Love the excitment and fast pace. We also have the best food ever.
2. Clearwater Beach, FL - love the gulf side of the ocean. Awesome white sand beaches & views. Love how you can relax poolside or on the beach and find quiet, but you can also find the action if you are in the mood for drinks or gatherings on Pier 60.
Those our our favorites, but another city we really like is Nashville & surrounding areas.
Hmm, that's a hard one.
I did enjoy Boston, tons of history, things to do & walking to do things. Baltimore was fun as well. I like our San Francisco trip & Seattle might have been fun if i didn't have a cold.
Sorry, I can't pick one, I don't have a favorite, but have enjoyed my travels.
Now if you said outside the US, I'd have a winner.
I've been trying to come up with fun trips that don't cost as much as traveling internationally. That's why I asked the question. We'll do international some other day

DH & I did a cross-country road trip, California to Michigan. It was awesome!!! We stopped at just about every major park along the way, including Craters of the Moon in Idaho, Yellowstone, the Badlands, Mount Rushmore, and some others I can't remember. I think my favorite part was just seeing the mountains in Wyoming. It's just breathtakingly beautiful! We didn't really have a plan - we just got a bunch of maps & hotel books from AAA, and when we got tired, whoever wasn't driving would start calling around to find out who had a room for the best rate. Definitely a great experience, I'd do it again in a heartbeat! (and I actually might with my sisters this summer...we'll see!)
This is tough. I haven't been on a real vacation in the continental u.s. since high school senior spring break. Alaska was by far our best vaca ever, but since that is neither the location you asked for, nor cheap, I guess it doesn't count.
Hmmm, we went to the north carolina coast for a wedding a few years ago, and it was really nice. I'd wait until summer for that one, though. The ocean was freezing even at the end of may. When I was a kid we road-tripped to yellowstone. That was a pretty awesome trip - and I think I'd like it even more now that I'm not 10.
Anywhere south, last summer I went to Isle of Palms, NC. It was a less crowded Myrtle Beach.
Or Savannah, GA. Also great beaches!
LOVE! Tennessee!! If we were ever to move out of state I'd be PUSHING for Tennessee. My Gramma would always take my sister and I there to visit our Aunt every summer, it was awesome.
